lots of good information, but...

This book contained a great deal of good information, but would benefit greatly from a more ruthless editor, and a more practiced narrator. The narration was clear, and in a pleasant voice, but filled with many Shatner-esque pauses. much of the material was simply spliced in from what appears to have been a television segment. I was ready to scream about the 47th time they introduced the same speaker.

it's hard to listen to John Davenport

the narrator, John Davenport, is hard to listen to at times. sometimes he sounds like a robot. other times he has very strange pronunciations, and the flow of is reading sometimes it's very odd

Choppy read, choppy content.

First, either each line of the pages was read as a complete sentence, or the editor had so few quality takes that the only option was to piece multiple fragments together regardless of fluidity. It was an annoying listen.
Second, this book seemed more of an advertisement for Dr. Bob Shepperd's "Whitetails" than an original work about hunting deer up close. At one point, an interviewer had Dr. Bob say the name of his book three times in quick succession much like in a late night infomercial.
Third, while it was an interesting story, the final chapter about taking an elephant with a bow was not useful to me and my whitetail bow hunting endeavors.

Skip this there are ads within the narration

There are a few books on bowhunting let alone dear hunting in audible this was a waste of credits. Little to no knowledge shared and in the middle of chapters switched to a podcast for other books as advertisements.
My first and only review on this app but it had to be said
