Historia
In White Fragility, Robin DiAngelo explained how racism is a system into which all White people are socialized and challenged the belief that racism is a simple matter of good people versus bad. DiAngelo also made a provocative claim: White progressives cause the most daily harm to people of color. In Nice Racism, her follow-up work, she explains how they do so. Drawing on her background as a sociologist and over 25 years working as an anti-racist educator, she picks up where White Fragility left off and moves the conversation forward.

Jared Yates Sexton alternates between an examination of his working class upbringing and historical, psychological, and sociological sources that examine the genesis of toxic masculinity and its consequences for society. The Man They Wanted Me to Be examines how we teach boys what's expected of men in America, and the long-term effects of that socialization-which include depression, shorter lives, misogyny, and suicide.

Historia
Confessions of a Token Black Girl is a snappy comedic tale framing Danielle's first-hand experiences in Wisconsin and other places as the perpetual "token Black girl", fraught with dark moments and hate crimes. It's a coming-of-age-story but instead of finding herself during a road trip, Danielle found herself through the effects of racism. This book humorously chronicles Danielle's quest for understanding what Black identity means to her - instead of what it means to everyone else.

I thought it would be entertaining, but it ended up being full of racist stereotypes. It seems like they went for the obvious cues from society instead of providing some real insight.

Horrible book. DO NOT PURCHASE
This must be a joke! First of all, this “book” is long enough to be a short story. Secondly, the content was suspiciously racist and reinforced negative stereotypes. Thirdly, it provided absurdly obvious ways to tell if a white woman likes black men. E.g., if she has a mixed baby! Great detective work, there!
A total waste of material
