Story
The kingdom of Cornucopia was once the happiest in the world. It had plenty of gold, a king with the finest moustache you could possibly imagine, and butchers, bakers, and cheesemongers whose exquisite foods made a person dance with delight when they ate them. Everything was perfect - except for the misty Marshlands to the north, which, according to legend, were home to the monstrous Ickabog. Anyone sensible knew that the Ickabog was just a myth to scare children into behaving. But the funny thing about myths is that sometimes they take on a life of their own.

Really shows you the troubles of living with dragons
Dragons are tricky creatures and it doesn’t make life any easier for anyone involved that they have to cohabit with humans who are ever so fickle themselves. This book is a great insight into living with dragons and I loved listening to every second of it. The combination of David Tennant and Hiccup ensures an enthralling few hours in Burke.
It was a perfectly fantastic book to listen to while dealing with the everyday mundane. 😊

Charming and with Great Narration!
What did you love best about How to Train Your Dragon?
It is a charming and witty story. As a warning, if you read this expecting to get the movie then you are going to be disappointed. Dreamworks really took it upon themselves to change things when they made their film but that isn't to say that the book is bad. It is the original thing after all. I really liked it and will look into continuing the series.
What about David Tennant’s performance did you like?
David Tennant was superb at putting emotion and inflection into his voice as he spoke. His voice was neither dull or monotone but instead really moved with the story. He tried to make each character have their own unique voice and for the most part he really succeded. I loved him.

Accent too heavy for my kids to follow
Any additional comments?
My kids (3 and 5)would have liked the story, but they had a really hard time understanding the narrator.
