A Capitol City, il diciottenne Coriolanus Snow si sta preparando con cura: è stato chiamato a partecipare ai Giochi in qualità di mentore e sa bene che questa potrebbe essere la sua unica possibilità di accedere alla gloria.
La casata degli Snow, un tempo potente, sta attraversando la sua ora più buia.
