It’s good but there was one word that killed me….

I’ve listened to all these books and I love the narrator. She speaks well in all of these books but in this story…..there was a discussion about produce (no spoiler here) and it was always pronounced PRA-duce not PRO-duce. What in god’s name is up with that PRA-nunciation? It was ANNOYING! Lol

But overall, still a good story.

But WTH Lisa, Lizette, really, really.
Can't wait for the next one.

Great book!

Great book and good narration if you can get past her funny use of the O vowel. Weird pronunciation of words like produce, which is used often and can be irritating. But other than that a great listen.

Excellent book

I really enjoy this book series. I have enjoyed all of them but liked this one the best. Kept my attention from minute one. Great characters.

It was the best of times. It was the worst of times.

This Josie Quinn book was sadly beautiful.
While this book was truly good it also makes one think about the many different dynamics of love and mental illness. I do hope there is more of this series to come. I have hung in this long & have no plans to stop long as Ms. Regan keeps writing them.

Satisfying

This series has never disappointed. Always look forward to the next one. Love that gore is kept to a bare minimum and there's always a twist.

Pronunciation issues again!?

Thank goodness this book had a great storyline because the word "produce" (as in produce store) was mispronounced over and over! It is NOT pronounced "pawd-uce". It really interrupted the story in many critical areas of the book! But, even with a few Canadian pronunciations and pawduce, this book was very good.
Unexpected twists in the plot included deaths, a wedding and a beautiful celebration of life.

Detective Josie Quinn

Plot. The Detective Josie Quinn series consists of several police procedurals, most involving missing or murdered women or girls. The setting is a small town in Pennsylvania. Josie's childhood trauma is interwoven into each story; we watch her character struggle with her job, love life, and the brain-twisting murders traversing the series.

Liked, Characters. Stories are initially straightforward who-done-it murders that morph into complex mysteries to enjoy. Josie's circle of friends consists of her fellow cops, the medical examiner, and her boss, each with a unique personality. Her family is initially small, but you'll see it expand as the stories progress. Not too many characters to keep track of - as they are integrated into each story. You'll have fun getting to know the characters and puzzling solutions. You'll find yourself muttering, "Wait ... what?" near the end of most books as the plots twist and surprises abound.

Not so hot. The first three books were poorly narrated by Eilidh Beaton as diction and child-like pronunciation were annoying. But stick with it as the rest are well read by Kate Handford. Production is fine, bumped speed to 1.4 - a preference, not a criticism.

The series is written by Lisa Regan and released from early 2018 through today. Bookouture published iinitially, later picked up by Hachette.

Recommended murder mysteries.

This is an excellent book. I enjoyed it from beginning to end. Can’t wait to read the next one.
