Similar to his first book

It's along the same vein as the author's first book 'The Productivity Project.' If you like his podcast 'Becoming Better,' you'll like this book. It's more about productivity coaching rather than any new, insightful guidance on focusing. The four stages of hyper focus are:
* Choose a productive or meaningful object of attention.
* Eliminate as many external and internal distractions that you can.
* Focus on that chosen object of attention.
* Continually draw your focus back to that object of attention.

Develop productivity rituals:
* Choose 3 things to accomplish each day. Weigh unexpected tasks against the intentions you set.
* Consider the consequences of each task, both short-term and long term - will it be better by doing that task?
* Set an hourly alarm to see how often you're immersed on productive tasks.
* Block time for hyper focus, starting with 15-20 minutes and increasing it over time.

very good listen!

listened on my commute. practical and enjoyable to put in place. I like the down to earth style yet scientific and intelligent fact based anecdotes. highly recommend! I will listen again to internalize more

Good tips for modern distractions

The author has a good pronunciation.
Makes it easy to understand.
But lacked a bit of emotion to make it more pleasant.
The speaking goes in a cruise speed all the way

Great in depth material on its points

Educational on how you should do things properly, especially on how to think/focus/process.

It's a lot of material covering topics as such which are filled with examples and plenty of tips on how to lean on valueing your time and focus.

Would still recommend to instead check out "How to train your brain"

That one changed my mindset and life just like "The Secret"...enabling to to have tools I can use for myself if i feel like i want to do things properly and better manage my time and brain energy.
