Publisher's summary

All's fair in hate and hockey.

My path to success never included an enemy as a teammate, especially one as infuriating as Quinton de Haas.

Clawing under my skin is his favorite pastime, only feeding the animosity between us as the years pass.

We’re as completely opposite as two people can be; the golden boy and the black sheep.

Constantly at odds or at each other’s throats.

The only thing we can agree on is hockey is our true love, and we’ll do whatever it takes to come out on top.

I never imagined that drive would lead me to do the unthinkable: falling into bed with my not-so-straight rival.

But athletes are a superstitious bunch, and when our hook-ups lead to victories, we tell ourselves we can’t stop.

Besides, it’s all for the sake of the team, right?

Iced Out is the first in a five book stand-alone college sports romance series featuring two misunderstood rival teammates, snarky banter, and more secret spicy times than any audiobook should be filled with. Not suitable for anyone under 18 years of age.

Rivals to lovers - Say less!

This was so HOT!

Oakley and Quinton are high school rivals turned college team mates. They have had a hate/hate relationship ever since high school. Quinton is the team captain but Oakley, being the natural leader he is, feels like it is better suited for him. After Quinton fails a drug test, Oakley steps in the team captain role, but things with the team are still off. They can't win any games. The tension is thick between all players and the rivalry between Quinton and Oakley.

One night, at a party Quinton and Oakley make a bet and unexpectedly hook up and end up winning their next game. With superstitions high, they continue hooking up in fear that they will lose again. The undeniable attraction between the two is amazing.

Their banter is top notch. I love that both of them were able to bring each other out of their comfort zones. Each dealing with things a little differently.

I listed to the audio version of this book and absolutely LOVED IT! The narrators really brought the characters to life. This will be a repeat read/listen for sure!

Give it a shot and you'll be happy

I don't like sports but I liked this story. Good character development and good voice actors. It's definitely worth the read if you're in the mood for a MM romance.

it grows on you

I started out strongly disliking both main characters for this story, but by the end of it I was kinda fond of them. I guess they grew on me? The last few chapters and conflict resolution felt a little rushed to me, but it was a good story overall.

Hit in the feels, send help.

Ok, confession time: I had been wanting to read a C. E. Ricci book for a while, but when I saw "Performed by Christian Fox and Liam DiCosimo" I hit "buy" so fast it was ridiculous...

Quinton and Oakley really dislike each other. REALLY. It all started back in high school. Quinton is the rich, bad boy, highly talented black sheep pain in the butt of the team. Oakley is third generation hockey legacy. They get into each other's nerves. They're constantly at each other's throats until, on a dare, they're in each other's pants... And the team starts a winning streak. We all know we don't mess with things during a winning streak, right? So they should keep hooking up for the good of the team. It's only logical...

This was just LOVELY. It's a true hate to love story that hits you right in the feels. My heart ached for Quinton, who's so rich and yet yearning for so many simple things he's always been denied. For Oakley, who had to carry a legacy on his shoulders while being out on a typically "manly" sport.

I loved how sweet and touching Quinton's journey of discovering his bisexuality was and how utterly romantic these two were when they were together. The socks, man, the socks! It's the little things... And also the secret grand gestures.

Plus HOCKEY! Win win!

Narration: Everyone and their uncle knows I was one of the witches at home casting spells to bring Mr Fox back into this gig of narrating books. Well, figuratively, but I would resort to that if needed. He's phenomenal as the bad boy, full of swagger and smirky smiles Quinton who's really very soft and a little broken inside.

And I'm so glad that I finally got to listen to Liam DiCosimo narrating! I love his podcast and his voice was already very familiar to my ears. He was perfect as Oakley! I can't recommend this audiobook enough. All the stars!

Perfect MM Hockey Romance

This is my favorite CE Ricci book. I am so glad I waited for the audio version because Christian Fox and Liam DiCosimo are narrating perfection. The enemies to lovers trope is done so well here. Quin and Oakley have been hockey rivals since high school and end up on the same college team. Their competitiveness and banter are so fun, and how they initially start hooking up was awesome. When they add spice into the mix their insane chemistry leads to all kinds of feels. There was seriously nothing about this book that I didn’t love. I’ll be listening again and again in the future.

Another Hockey story?

And yes I chose to read it because of the high review. My beef is why so many Hockey books? Are there no other subjects for mm writers?

Quinton and Oakley are enemies but I don’t really get why they seem to hate each other. It wasn’t real believable. Oakley is very standoffish to the point I wasn’t sure these two were getting together. When they do finally get there they just don’t seem to have a lot of chemistry. But I did like that they weren’t all mushy either. I just think most guys are not like that but are written that way for women readers.

So yes, I have mixed feelings about this one. But I did really enjoy the audio!!!
