About this listen
Ikarion Gate is an isekai LitRPG adventure novel – Book One in the Ikarion trilogy. The novel follows the exploits of Tito, a down-on-his-luck and anonymous Imago slummer. Daily, he logs in to Monad’s Ikarion VR MMO to earn survival “gang protection” money in his alter ego identity as Card, the Hedge Merchant. With his fellow player friend Perk, the cheerful Agrarian Dwarf, and a host of other unlikely companions, Card is about to discover there is much more to the Ikarion game and its mysterious gate than he could have ever imagined.
As a LitRPG story, Ikarion Gate unfolds in the Anime Multiverse setting described in the BESM Fourth Edition role-playing game.

A fun isekai adventure
A great take on the man in a new world framework that stays fresh. Jonathan Sheep's performance was a welcome addition that paired great with the narration style of the book.

An interesting take on a world like Ready Player 1
It's not the same thing as Ready Player 1. Though the base of the setting is similar. The world sucks and people like to escape into games. Our 4 main characters are thrust together by fate and must help the game makers if they want to be able to keep playing. This is book 1 of a planned trilogy so it doesn't wrap everything up but it does have a good ending anyway and leaves you wanting to know what happens next.

Very enjoyable
Well paced and balanced, i have no grips with any of this book. Even after listening to it twice.

Incredible Narrator performance
Jonathan Sleep uses so many great and different voices in his performance. There are a few sound effects added but they're never detracting from the story. He keeps me listening and wanting more. I look forward to what is next.
