If God is holy, then he can’t sin. If God can’t sin, then he can’t sin against you. If he can’t sin against you, shouldn’t that make him the most trustworthy being there is? Best-selling author Jackie Hill Perry, in her much anticipated follow-up to Gay Girl, Good God, helps us find the reason we don’t trust God - we misunderstand his holiness. In Holier Than Thou, Jackie walks us through Scripture, shaking the dust off of “holy” as we’ve come to know it and revealing it for what it really is: good news.

What can the call to discipleship, the adherence to the word of Jesus, mean today to the businessman, the soldier, the laborer, or the aristocrat? What did Jesus mean to say to us? What is his will for us today? Drawing on the Sermon on the Mount, Dietrich Bonhoeffer answers these timeless questions by providing a seminal reading of the dichotomy between "cheap grace" and "costly grace."

To have found God and still to pursue Him is a paradox of love, scorned indeed by the too-easily-satisfied religious person, but justified in happy experience by the children of the burning heart. Saint Bernard of Clairvaux stated this holy paradox in a musical four-line poem.

Born After Midnight stirs us toward renewal. Be it in the realm of money, worship, worry, or prayer, A. W. Tozer applies God's high wisdom to our everyday living to show sin bitter and Christ sweet, helping us crave heaven and lose our taste for the world. If you will take God for who he says he is, trust his promises as true, and forsake the world in clutching for heaven, it will cost you everything. But it will give you eternity. Born After Midnight invites you to seek what cannot be lost.

John Charles Ryle’s best known works have been reissued and widely read over many years. The fine qualities of his writings have ensured that his books are still popular and useful. This volume has become a classic work and is known and loved by many throughout the world. In days when evangelical preachers are accused of being either superficial or dull, we have here a great example of one who was neither of these things. As Bishop Ryle applies his texts, the listener will find his soul examined.

Wisdom, encouragement, and exhortation is contained here. Not because of the author's brilliance, but because of the words of truth contained in the gospel of John. And just as the Apostle John didn't draw any attention to himself, so also J. C. Ryle clearly and wonderfully directs his words and our thoughts toward the inspired words of scripture. If we truly love God, we will love his word; and the more we study his word, the more we will love God.

Old Paths is a collection of 19 of J. C. Ryle's most effective tracts on the leading truths of Christianity, which are, as he says, "necessary to salvation." In including in such a series Inspiration, Election, and Perseverance, he allows that good Christians have disagreed and will still disagree about them, but he inserts them nevertheless on account of the immense importance of the first and the extraordinary neglect into which the last two have fallen. Ryle's racy style, plainspokenness, and good taste are sure to secure your affection and hold your attention.

Resumen del Editor
A democratic republic depends upon two unassailable truths: Freedom can only exist (1) where the laws of God are considered absolute and (2) where the majority believe that God, not man and not government, created men and women equal. This book is founded on the principle that only truth can make us free and that the Holy Bible is the foundation of our freedom. This book explores law - the laws of God and the laws of man, and defines freewill, agency, freedom, and liberty - and presents what is necessary to maintain our liberty.
My primary focus is law. Temporal law gives us freedom. Spiritual law gives us agency. Man-made laws that are in harmony with temporal and spiritual laws give us liberty.
I seek to show that without adherence to absolute truth and absolute law, freedom cannot exist. If we want agency, we must choose good over evil. If we want freedom, we must obey the laws of freedom. If we want liberty, we must align our social laws with the laws of God.
In Washington D.C. stands a statue with the following words inscribed on the base: "Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty." There is no shortcut to freedom, to agency, or to liberty. No matter what storm clouds gather without, if we want liberty, we must obey the laws of liberty within.
Our liberty was threatened when the British invaded the colonies; our liberty was threatened when the first slave ship was permitted to unload its human misery on American soil; our liberty was threatened when the South seceded from the union; our liberty was threatened when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, but those threats are but a prelude to the threats that threaten our liberty today. Before, the menace came from without; today, the threat to our liberty comes from within.
Christianity is under attack. Religious freedom is under attack. Freedom of speech is under attack. Our Constitution and Bill of Rights are under attack. Racism is used as a weapon by the left to deliberately divide America. Our borders are left vulnerable. Our economy is threatened. Our justice system is used with impunity for personal vendetta. Rather than truth, our congress ignores rule of law and uses slander and personal attack to impede justice. They put personal power over the voice of the people. The word God is being removed from our Pledge of Allegiance, from our schools, even from our nation. We are apologizing for our liberty, our language, our religion, our moral values, our standards, our laws, our Constitution, our Bill of Rights, our belief in God, our way of life, and even for our blessings.
News sources, which once were standards of freedom of speech, are now mere propaganda machines governed by the left to generate fake news, slanted facts, and orchestrated slander against anyone who disagrees with their liberal policies.
Some want to remove our flag from its standard, “In God we trust” from our coins, and “Under God” from our Pledge of Allegiance. They want to remove crosses, bibles, prayers, and all other Christian symbols, icons, ceremonies, and sacraments from public eyes as if Christ, the author of our liberty, were something to be ashamed of.
I suppose that all Christians, at some point, must answer the question, ‘Why am I a Christian?’ For me it is a love of truth and a love of freedom.
All I want said of me is that I loved freedom, agency, and liberty more than I loved life; and that I loved truth and the fountain of truth more than I loved the philosophies of men, more than I loved the world, and more than I loved myself.

Written between A.D. 413 and 426, The City of God is one of the great cornerstones in the history of Christian thought, a book which is vital to the understanding of modern Western society. Augustine originally intended it to be an apology for Christianity against the accusation that the Church was responsible for the decline of the Roman Empire, which had occurred just three years earlier. Indeed, Augustine produced a great amount of evidence to prove that paganism was responsible for this event. However, by the time the work was finished, the book had taken on a larger theme.

Doubt as to moral and spiritual truth is distilled through a score of channels. Our seats of learning are hotbeds of agnosticism. Our literature, with rare exceptions, makes light of God and jokes about sacred things. The newspapers, the radio broadcasts, public utterances, and private conversations are steadily but surely removing the foundations of righteousness and destroying what little faith in spiritual things still remain.

The central issue of Jesus' death is not the cause, but the meaning - God's meaning. That is what this book is about. John Piper has gathered from the New Testament 50 reasons. Not 50 causes, but 50 purposes - in answer to the most important question that each of us must face: What did God achieve for sinners like us in sending his Son to die?

Historia
The weight of glory is a happy burden. Thus God is the happiest Being in the Universe. To know Him in His pleasures is to see Him as He is - and to have a fresh encounter with His transforming presence. If you are hungry for this deep delight, consider the gladness of His great heart. The things that make God glad are the measures of His greatness. Christ and the cross. Choosing His people and bruising His Son. Creating the world and revealing His worth. The gladness of His people in the greatness of His glory.

Historia
All Loves Excelling is John Bunyan's sermon on Ephesians 3:18-19: "That ye...may be able to comprehend with all saints, what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge." It was first titled The Saints' Knowledge of Christ's Love, is worthy of being ranked alongside Sibbes, and deals with a much neglected subject area.

The Confessions by Saint Augustine is considered an all-time number one Christian classic. Augustine undertook his greatest piece of writing with the conviction that God wanted him to make this confession. The Confessions is, in fact, an extended poetic, passionate, intimate prayer.

"Whether by design or by chance," Terryl and Fiona Givens write, "we find ourselves in a universe filled with mystery. We encounter appealing arguments for a Divinity that is a childish projection, for prophets as scheming or deluded imposters, and for scripture as so much fabulous fiction. But there is also compelling evidence that a glorious Divinity presides over the cosmos, that His angels are strangers we have entertained unawares, and that His word and will are made manifest through a sacred canon that is never definitively closed."

Exceptional Book
This is an exceptional book and the reader put emphasis exactly where it should have been placed. I re-learned somethings and learned others. Everyone who claims Christianity should read this book or get Audible to have it read to them.
