Publisher's summary
Frank Quinn, the relentless detective who made his debut in John Lutz’s acclaimed thriller Darker Than Night, faces his toughest - and most personal - case yet...
An invitation written in blood...A madman is stalking women in the city. By the time his victims are found, they’ve been dismembered with careful precision, their limbs stacked into a gruesome pyramid and completely cleansed of every last drop of blood.
To catch a killer - or die next....
Accustomed to working on the most grisly homicides, detective Frank Quinn’s nerves don’t rattle easily. But when the last names of the killer’s victims spell out “Q-u-i-n-n,” the veteran cop feels a chill run down his spine. Then a fresh victim is linked to the one woman Quinn can’t stop desiring. Hunting down killers is what Quinn does best. But this time, Quinn is up against a psychopath that will test him as never before....

Scott Brick ruins the book.
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
I finished it because I felt I had to. I really found it predictable.
If you’ve listened to books by John Lutz before, how does this one compare?
Read his first. This lacked a surprise ending.
Would you be willing to try another one of Scott Brick’s performances?
I would try to avoid a Scott Brick book.
Could you see In for the Kill being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
Tom Selleck as Quinn~John Goodman as his partner~

Great listen
What did you love best about In for the Kill?
The narrator
Who was your favorite character and why?
Quinn, he is so calm and cool
Which character – as performed by Scott Brick – was your favorite?
He did a pretty good job with Pearl
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I found myself feeling sorry for Sherman, his mother was really nuts!!!
Any additional comments?
The only thing that really bothered me with this audio was the woman that came on between downloads. She had the worst lisp. Can't they find someone who has a proper way of speaking. I found myself thinking so much about this woman's lisp, that I missed the first several paragraphs. Send this woman to speech therapy, or get someone else.

Loved it!
I just recently started reading Lutz' Detective Quinn's series, and I love it so far. I especially like the way he keeps going back and forth in the life of the serial killer so you have an idea of what makes him tick, but without letting you guess who the prep is nowadays. I hope the third one is as good.

Wow. Good book.
This was a really good serial killer book.
The Butcher was the perfect name for this guy.
Beware: There are detailed description of the killings.
I really like Quinn a lot. Pearl is fun sometimes, she can get annoying at times too.
The story line and plot were good. There is a lot of great dialogue throughout the book.
The narrator is fantastic! Scott Brick can do no wrong as far as I’m concerned.

Great story, Gory great good read excellent listen
You will stay out of the shower and avoid soap after you read this. The story is spell binding. The reader is Scott Brick, need I say more. Like some authors he ends poorly or tries too. He makes a good landing. This is not like Koontz's The Husband, Terrible ending. This book kept me in the car so I could finish it. You will enjoy the book if you do not mind body parts. Happy reading.

Unbelieveable
This was the most unbelieveable, disconnected, disappointing book I have ever listened to. I kept praying that it would get better and perhaps an interesting twist would arise. No, no, and no. Can I please give half a star?

Autrocious
Would you try another book from John Lutz and/or Scott Brick?
Never
Would you ever listen to anything by John Lutz again?
Not in this lifetime
Would you be willing to try another one of Scott Brick’s performances?
Nope, his delivery reminded me of Arlo Guthrie doing Alice's Restaurant...Arlo was trying to be funny.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Disappointment and anger
Any additional comments?
This was an absolutely terrible book. I cannot understand how an editor in their right mind sent it to a publisher. I am not appalled by vivid descriptions of murders. I do get sick of the same unrealistic scenario being repeated in a book ad nauseum. Interesting imaginative characters, I really enjoy encountering in books. Illogical character development and wildly contrived plots just irritate me. Lutz had policemen behave in ways policemen never behave; a public defender claiming to working 'pro bona', a policewoman having an affair with a suspect; a father who hears that his daughter has met the suspect being more jealous than angry that his ex-lover had allowed that to happen. Horrible, horrible, horrible.

In for the Kill
I don't care for the melodic method of the reader. It becomes irritating to listen to after awhile. The story line is not as captivating as other books I've listened. Seems drawn out too much.

In for the Kill
I don't know if it was me or what, but I still can't name all of the characters of this book. I listened to the first part at least 4 times. When I listened to the last part I would just shake my head and say where did that person come from? I don't remember him. I can't wait to read other reviews and see what others thought. I did not like it.
