About this listen

Second chances always come with a price.

Colonel Liam Wessex is happy to see Jamie Callahan and Kyle Brannigan finally married, but it leaves him wishing his own life wasn’t such a mess. With his classified identity revealed to the British public, Liam struggles with the transition into civilian life. When MI6 Agent Oliver Archer stumbles back into his world, Liam has a second chance to make things right between them, if only the prickly agent would let him close again.

Oliver thought he’d done enough to cut Liam out of his life for good after a disastrous night together during their youth. But when terrorists target London and Liam is called back to active duty, they’re forced to work together for the good of queen and country. Liam may not be the spoiled prince Oliver once knew, but that doesn’t make up for the heartache he caused.

Amidst royal engagements and clandestine missions, Liam and Oliver find themselves facing a threat that could tear them apart all over again.

Fantastic End to a Fantastic Series

I have loved this series from the very first chapter of the first book. I had previously read all the books. Now having listened to the whole series there will be repeat listens in the future. I was happy to learn more about Liam, although he appeared in other books we didn't know much about him. Thank you dear author for that. And a Huge Thank you to the Amazing Narrator

Loved Liam and Oliver

I have thoroughly enjoyed the Metahuman series and I was so happy that we got Liam's story and his happy ending. Liam and Oliver have a rocky past but it was nice to see them work through it and realize they were kids before and now they are adults. I find myself wishing we could have more of Oliver and Liam so who knows, maybe there will be a spin off, one can hope anyway. I would have loved to see Rupert (I think that was his name) get more of a reckoning than he did but again they are all adults now. Hailey Turner does a really nice job of writing action into her stories in a way that makes it possible to picture what is going on. Sometimes the action scenes in a book are more of a blur of scenes but her writing is easier to follow and I'm grateful for her skill to do that. There were several times during this story where I found myself holding my breath and mentally telling myself that everything would be okay, it had to be, which also made this a really good story. I'm not really ready to let go of all of these characters so I may have to start over at the beginning. Narration was very well done! Greg Boudreaux does a wonderful job with many different voices.

Well written & excellent narration

This series of books was very well done, with well developed characters, interesting storylines and sub-plots. The narration really made it all come together with impressive dialects that really made the characters unique. Overall, one of my new favorite reads.

Love the suspense, action and romance!!

Love the suspense, action and romance!!  Really good narration and i love how he brought the characters to life.

Liam and Oliver's story took them through a tough challenging road from hurt and anger, regret and forgiveness to friendship and love.  They did work against insurmountable odds to find their HEA.

Jamie and Kyle were front and center in this story and we got lots of steam and romance from their interactions.  These guys have finally gotten their hard fought HEA and i loved being a part of their journey.

This story is so well written with characters that will live in your heart and mind.  The pacing was wonderful, I was always engaged and enjoyed the dialogue and the team.

This is book six of Metahuman Files series and it is an amazing series and this book brings yet another fabulous story to the series.

Excellent performance

I read this series and listened to the last book on audible. The narrator really brought the story to life. I enjoyed this book the most. The series is good, you don't need to read the series to enjoy this book - but it helps to have the background info. The author does a good job of giving the reader the basics. I liked the series, but this one was my favorite.

Brilliant and perfect

Perfect ending to a perfect series. The only thing that would be better was if we ever got more of all of these characters. One of my favorite series ever. Loved getting to know Liam more in this one.

Truly a fairytale ending

Oh my god! I can’t believe this series is over. I will always remember the guys of this series who are courageous, loving, loyal and romantic in their own ways. I still can’t believe this series has come to an end. This series tied up everything neatly and cleaning giving us readers/listeners a very satisfactory HEA.

Two couples got their HEA in this book, Liam and Oliver .. thank god because I was rooting for Liam all along and we also finally got the long-awaited fairytale ending for Jamie and Kyle. I am so happy for those two. As always, it was action-packed, exciting, thrilling, romantic and scorching hot. Again, I really can’t believe the series has come to an end. Greg Boudreaux did a superb narration AS ALWAYS and I’m sure I’ll definitely relisten this series soon. For now, I’m happy and book-drunk.

End of an Age

As a wrap up to the Metahuman Files, this book did a fairly good job of tying up the loose ends from the series while focusing on Liam. I liked getting to know him better and see his redemption with Oliver. My only real problem with the story was the section featuring Kyle and Jamie’s honeymoon. To me, it felt like an unnecessary add on and was only there to fill some arbitrary quota of sex scenes. Aside from that, it was easy to get wrapped up in the story and just experience. Greg Boudreaux did a fantastic job narrative this book and the entire series. He was a perfect choice for these characters and this story type.

Lovely!

I was a little uncertain, reading other reviews, but this book functions as both epilogue and bridge, as well as giving Liam his own story. it's possible to move on from here, but after tearing through all of the Metahumans series, I am eminently satisfied with this wrap-up. I loved the entire adventure from beginning to end.
