About this listen

When a murder disrupts the Irish vacation she is taking with her husband, Roarke, Eve realizes that no place is safe - not an Irish wood or the streets of the manic city she calls home. But nothing prepares her for what she discovers upon her return to the cop shop in New York City....

A driver for a top-of-the-line limousine service is found dead - shot through the neck with a crossbow. The car was booked by an executive at a venerable security company whose identity had been stolen. Days later, a stunning, high-priced escort is found killed at Coney Island, a bayonet stuck in her heart. And again, the trail leads to a CEO whose information has been hijacked.

With a method established, but no motive to be found, Eve begins to fear that she has come across that most dangerous of criminals, a thrill killer, but one with a taste for the finer things in life - and death. Eve does not know where or when the next kill will be, or that her investigation will take her to the rarefied circle that Roarke travels in - and into the perverted heart of madness....

Murder Games

For me, this book ended up being less about the Murder Games of the bad guys and more about Eve & Co. The opening scenes with Eve & Roarke visiting his family in Ireland are comical, poignant and romantic. Roosters, cows, cousin Sean, Holly & the memorial park will stick with you. The there’s Eve’s ruminations, which are often creative and make you consider things from a different viewpoint. Featured in this book:
What is a dawdle? More than a pause? Less than a procrastination?
I truly enjoy the absurdities that come out of Robb’s mind. Where does she come up with Jenkinson’s recitation to Eve of his & Reinecke’s collar? and Peabody’s vehicular orgasms?

If you like your murder mysteries balanced with humanity, humor & romance, you’ll enjoy these in Death books.
Erickson is the voice of these characters and the series.

Another homerun for JD Robb!

Excellent story, and the narration by Susan Erickson was phenomenal as always! Her character voicings are perfectly synchronized to each person. She's very talented!

Book 31 of the Best Series Ever!

The 'In Death' series, written by J.D. Robb & narrated by Susan Ericksen, is a futuristic suspense series. The story is set in mid-21st-century New York City & it centers around Lieutenant Eve Dallas & her billionaire husband, Roarke.

My husband & I both love all of the J.D. Robb, 'In Death' series. We first began listening to them when they were on CDs. We've listened to the entire series, in order, three times so far! If we're driving somewhere, you can be sure Eve, Roarke, Peabody, McNab, Capt. Feeney, Mavis, Dr. Mira, Nadine, Summerset & the rest of the gang are in the truck with us. We love all of the major characters & look forward, with anticipation, to the new audiobooks that come out in February & September every year!

If you're looking for an awesome mystery series, a little romance with a bit of the futuristic thrown in, then you'll love this series! Believe me, you just can't go wrong, but be warned... once you get started, you'll be hooked!

Indulgence in death

I have enjoyed the Death Series. Was a pleasant surprise that this book opened up in Ireland with Dallas and Roarke on vacation. Susan Ericksen is great. She is Dallis! I had a feeling this story was familiar and wished more of the other characters of the other books were present in the story. Looking forward to the next book.
