アニメキャラクターの格好をした女性が店員を務めるコスプレ喫茶などが続々オープンし、秋葉原は＂電気街＂から＂オタクの街＂に変貌しました。
日本で大人気のアイドルグループ、AKB48も秋葉原で誕生しました。
