Great story, and even better narration. 100% worth the cost, cash or Credit. Cannot wait for the next book and will be preordering it ASAP.

couldn't stop listening

started out a little bit slow but picked up quickly and didn't stop until the very end. extremely recommended.

Absolutely amazing!!!

This book is a work of art! Every character is beautifully constructed and unique, and great dialogue and chemistry between the characters. fight scenes were descriptive without it being TOO descriptive and as always Luke Daniels brings to life every character with feeling and talent. I LOVE THIS BOOK and I cannot wait for the next one in the series!

This audio book absolutely ROCKS!

Narrator Luke Daniels, from other audio books I have listened to have always been great. I haven't really posted alot of reviews from the over 100 audio books I have but this one deserves it. I'll just summarize it and spare you the boredom gibberish. From start to finish, it absolutely rocks. If your taste blends together with fantasy, magic, martial arts and a flare for high speed tempo close quarter combat the I would recommend this one for you. 33+ hours of entertainment? Can't beat that for one credit. It has a good starting background, building up more and more with each chapter to the ending was really well thought out and written. In a type of David Vs. Goliath blending of a boundless determination of one person to persevere through the toughest challenges, it really does in a way..... make one person relate to any one's normal life as it is today. Finding ways to overcome obstacles and never giving up.....now that is the SPIRIT!!!!! Bravo.

Anyways... I can honestly say, from my own viewpoint. It was well worth the price and time to listen to and probably like other audiobooks I've purchased like KOBAN series, The Reaper series, Star Force series and others.......I will definitely listen to this AGAIN and AGAIN. It is just so worthwhile and entertaining.

what a great start to a series. can't wait till the next book. the Lukes have done it again!!

so I've listened to this a few times

overall I'd say this is a solid book well worth giving a chance, the narrator is pretty good, some accent choices and a few parts where he forgets to change voices are not great but overall solid. the book itself is close to five stars, I think a tendency to dramatic reaction and one part which I will go into are the only things that nock a star off for me

The whole grant storyline where he has a vaguely unpleasant childhood and a sort of okay? code of honer somehow excuses the fact he is psychotic just is absolutely wild. how did he pass the psych portion with the mind? how did a lot of the candidates? being a little aggressive and passionate is one thing but nobody wants a super powered nut case who can't keep a lid on his feelings and solves everything with an axe to the face. then on top of all that you expect me to believe that Viv of all people somehow goes from wanting him dead to having a crush on him because he shows a bare minimum amount of morals? absolutely ridiculous. absurd in every way. that is not how humans work.

Best story I've heard in a while

Well performed with much emotion. the story flows well and kept me engaged like few have lately.

A fast paced, imaginative read

A great cast of characters, lots of action, with a mix of sci-fi weaponry that was well done. A few spots were a bit tedious with really long, overly detailed fight scenes, but otherwise a strong storyline.

THE.BEST!

Amazing book, it got me into this book genre and I hate that I have to wait for the next one!
