About this listen

One of Buzzfeed's Best Romances of 2021

A Popsugar Best Book and Best Romance of July 2021

One of Bustle's Best New Books of July 2021

With his passion for romance novels, it was only a matter of time before Vlad wrote one.

Elena Konnikova has lived her entire adult life in the shadows. As the daughter of a Russian journalist who mysteriously disappeared, she escaped danger the only way she knew how: She married her childhood friend, Vladimir, and moved to the United States, where he is a professional hockey player in Nashville.

Vlad, a.k.a. the Russian, thought he could be content with his marriage of convenience. But it’s become too difficult to continue in a one-sided relationship. He joined the Bromance Book Club to learn how to make his wife love him, but all he’s learned is that he deserves more. He’s ready to create his own sweeping romance - both on and off the page.

The bros are unwilling to let Vlad forgo true love - and this time they’re not operating solo. They join forces with Vlad’s neighbors, a group of meddling widows who call themselves the Loners. But just when things finally look promising, Elena’s past life intrudes and their happily ever after is cast into doubt.

Well worth the wait!

Loved it from start to finish! The narration and storyline were perfect. I loved the chemistry between the characters, how Vlad was such an open soul and of curse the banter between the guys. Such an amazing series overall, and this book might just be my favorite.

Great ending finally!

I enjoyed yet another book about the Bromance Club and appreciated we finally learned more about Vlad! But the frequent back and forth was tiring after a while and thought the book could have ended earlier. Loved the way The Promise ended even if it was totally unrealistic!

Love it so much at the start but...

I thought this book is going to be my favorite because it's so hilarious and fun at the start. I love the guys from the book club and their chemistry, interaction but when it comes to hero and heroine chemistry it turn out to be so boring and I can't feel their love for each other at all. I tried to finished this book but I can't.

Good Addition

Overall a good addition to the series
Cute, cheesy, and even the tiniest bit of misters which is new to the Bromance reads.
The first book has my heart but this adds to the collection nicely.

Laugh Out Loud Moments

As I've come to expect, there were many laugh out loud moments. I love when the bros get together. It is always a hoot. I was intrigued with the introduction of the mysterious cheese man. I hope he becomes a part of the bromance book club. Vlad has been a favorite and I was so looking forward to him getting his story. And I did enjoy how he and Elena's love story evolved. However, I didn't particularly care for the mystery surrounding Elena's father's disappearance or Vlad's romance book. They were a distraction for me. The Loners were a brilliant addition though. I hope we continue to see them in future books. And I loved how the neighbors pets kept showing up in Vlad home.

The Russian is Unexpectedly Serious

The love story is okay, but I love that the Bros are still their usual crazy selves, although it is not as much on this installment. Andrew Eiden fleshed out the funny parts perfectly, as always, making this audiobook still worth listening to. I would have loved it if it was as outrageous as the Russian in the first three books.
