Publisher's summary

When Lee Barrett joins a former student's bridal party as maid of honor, she expects cake tastings and dress fittings. But wedding planning becomes more peculiar than Lee's scrying talents could ever predict. There's a magical baker, a best man with a checkered past, and a talking crow named Poe as the ring bearer. There's also a kindly old man dead under his apple tree - one of a series of unexplained deaths hanging over the Wiccan community....

With witches dropping dead before they even come out of the proverbial broom closet, Lee's best friend, River, fears she might have somehow unleashed a terrible curse on the city. Now, aided by Poe and her clairvoyant cat, Lee sets out to investigate. Are lives being claimed by vengeful supernatural forces - or by something more shocking? She soon discovers, casting light on the wicked truth can be one killer commitment....

It Takes a Coven

Really exciting story. Salem has been invaded by crows. And someone is killing witches. Lea and her boyfriend cop are on the job. Great story.

Entertaining...

I liked this book. I thought it had a little more humor than past books in the series. I sometimes wish the narrator would lighten up a little bit on the main characters voice, sometimes she comes off as a little too prim & proper like her Aunt. But over all, I enjoyed it.

It takes a coven

Wonderful series can’t wait to listen to the next book. I recommend this series to anyone that loves a nice, romantic series and cloak and dagger.

What happened to the narrator?

I loved the first in this series, liked the 2nd one and on down the hill. The narrator was ok in the first book but she must have fallen in love with herself by book #6. Slow, boring, stiff - really terrible.

No more

This is a mediocre cozy mystery series. Lee Barret lives a charmed life inconvenienced by an occasional murder. The plot is slow and the characters are not realistic. The first couple of books were ok but I haven't enjoyed the last couple of books.

Too many desserts: too little story!

I liked the first books in this series, but the latest book is filled with cakes, cupcakes, cookies, lasagna, more cake, and very little plot. Combine this with a slow, bland narrator, and you have a book that will bring out the stress-eater in anyone! 1 star plus 3-5 lbs! Beware!
