Publisher's summary

“I loved her all these years, but if I don’t believe I can stay put and be happy here…I won’t go down that road.”

The Dumont Island Boarding House is located in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and is only accessible by car ferry. Most roads on the island are gravel, though the main road that travels down the middle of the island is paved. There are conveniences such as a general store, post office, souvenir shops, café and a post office on the island, as well as a few cottages spaced along the amazing coastline. The boarding house sits on the far side of the island, with limited resources including electricity supplied only by generator for a brief time during the early evening hours; gasoline lanterns are used at night. Everyone knows each other on the island and they all like to take care of each other as a community of neighbors.

Rachel Carlton has lived on Dumont since she was three, and now, with the help of her aunt, runs the only boarding house on the island. She is a quiet, bookish soul that finds peace in the elements around her and the companionship of all that pass through the boarding house. The latest visitor to the residence is about to take her outside her comfort zone and may prove to be the most joyful surprise of her life.

Mason has done well for himself by the world’s standards, but he is stressed out, frustrated, and now worried about his long-term health. Now a job loss along with a health scare has him contemplating a life spent on the wrong pursuits. He will return to Dumont Island to fix up the homestead his grandfather left him many years ago. His homecoming will allow him to reconnect with old friends as he tries to settle on a path for his future.

Can a city boy that has run for years on adrenalin with his fast paced job, find the slower pace of Dumont Island enjoyable? Will the spark of an old flame be enough for two lonely souls to give love a chance?

The Dumont Island Board House series is based upon Romans 12:12-16 (NIV). “Joyful in Hope,” is the first book in this seven-book series. Download this clean romance book that will make you feel good about yourself and the world around you.
