Resumen del Editor

Cilla

The Beast had Belle. Killian Black has me.

How I got here doesn’t matter, even though he says it does. Says it was my choice. He doesn’t get it, though. It wasn’t ever a choice for me.

And now, he’s changing the rules.

The agreement was one month. For 30 days, I’d be his. He’s no longer satisfied with my body alone, though. He wants my soul, too. Wants every part of me. And even though I can pretend I’m safe when I lie beneath him, this man does something to me. Something wicked.

A thing that will break me.

Killian

Cilla made the choice. She offered the deal. I just took her up on it. So what if I changed the rules halfway in? I’m not apologizing for it.

See, Cilla and me, we’re the same. She’s dark. As dark as me. Something happened to her. Something bad. It damaged her.

But it’s not a hero she seeks. It’s an avenging angel. A dark knight. That, I can do. I’ll slay her dragons, but it’ll cost her, because in return, I want everything. And I’ll take it.

She’s mine.

Killian is a stand-alone dark romance, originally published as Captive Beauty.

Wow. This was so well done and so intense!

First of all, I gotta say it: Christian Fox continues to dampen panties around the world with that voice! Really though, both narrators did a wonderful job and I was really immersed throughout this story. It was extremely well written and the characters had just the right mix of flaws and personality to make them seem like they were real people being written about. I loved how raw it was; the author didn't hold back because some parts weren't pretty and won't fit into the fairy tale that people expect all romance novels to be. A word of warning: this book is heavy. It's heavily centered around histories of abuse and personally a few years ago I probably would have had to turn it off. That said, I really enjoyed it. It had a fresh feel and it was the perfect length for this particular story (don't you just hate when a story goes on for 3 books and you're just ready for it to be over?!). So to recap: heavy material and some pretty intense BDSM sessions, sexy narration, complex and well developed characters, and a good flow to the story that kept me very engaged throughout without boring me in the lease bit (which is getting harder to do these days with the more typical romance books I read/hear). Definitely worth the credit, would buy it again in a heartbeat! I've also looked at the authors other books and I think she's gonna be a new favorite; I'm about to go read Unhinged so if you like this and want to read other books where the bad guys (more like the damaged guys) get the girl, check out the author when you're done with this one.

Killian - Cilla and Kill

Cilla gave herself to Kill to save her brother from getting hurt or killed when he got caught trying to sell some of Kill's drugs. She agreed to stay with him for 30 days where he could use her however he wanted. Somewhere along the way, things change between the two damaged souls. Both had terrible childhood trauma. Cilla could be a royal pain in the ass and I had a hard time liking her. I wonder what happened to Kill's cousin Benny (a snake), who he caught in his office attempting to steal a disc drive from a meeting recorded at Kills club. Hugo, Kill's right hand man, took Benny out back. The end was very nice for Cilla, Kill and Cilla's brother. Christian Fox and Kate Genevieve did a great job with the narration.

Wonderful non-hero!

This was an overall enjoyable listen. The story normally builds over time to like the hero in a dark mafia and feel sad and support the heroine. It was just opposite for me this time. Killian was amazingly caring and supportive of this broken brother and sister, but I thought he was deserving of a better heroine. I thought Cilla was terrible and downright annoying. Her thought process with a million questions drove me crazy. Killian had the patience of a saint dealing with Cilla. I thought the narrators were amazing especially the cool 😎 Perfection of Christian Fox.

Amazingly-crafted, dark and twisted

Captive Beauty is my first read/listen by this author, and it had an amazingly-crafted dark and twisted spin of a modern day Beauty and the Beast. As a means to rectify a situation, Cilla and Killian’s relationship begins with anything but romance. Their connection and feelings are very raw throughout the story… bringing forth demons from both their pasts, showcasing their flaws and making them the perfect salvation for each other. On the outside, Killian is painted as the bad guy but he is exactly what Cilla needed to fight her “dragon”, and in turn Cilla gives Killian a second chance to redeem himself for his past loss he was unable to prevent. Their underlying dark secrets are hinted throughout the storyline, which gives the reader an idea of what happened, but I would have liked a little more closure for Cilla and her brother’s story, as it never really fully detailed what exactly did happen to them. The narration was excellent! It was also my first time experiencing the talent of Christian Fox and Kate Genevieve. Both performances were on point with the characters’ personalities, bringing the raw emotion and powerfulness of this dark tale to my listening ears.

Fantastic writing!

This book has you from the very get go! The author really sucks you in into the story very quickly. The 2 story tellers we're absolutely perfect for doing the book because they keep your interest all the way through. Have listened to this book probably 7 times all ready and absolutely fall in love with each time. Definitely a high recommended book for everyone!

It was Good

The story was good but the women’s narrators voice I didn’t like, the mans voice fit very well. Good good to listen to and was not disappointed I purchased it.

good story

I loved the story but the female voice was not so pleasant. I also would have liked to have the female read the female parts throughout the male chapters and vice versa.

this does get quite dark. if that's not your jam, you need not read. both narrators did a fantastic job relaying the emotions of each scene. I really enjoyed this read.

Not exactly what I expected. I wish that I know what the judge did to them exactly.

Christian Fox = 🔥🥵

Really like this book and totally recommend it. The narrators are EXCELLENT. Mr. Fox has a great alpha voice. Definitely dark, but balanced with a plot + relationship.
