Publisher's summary

In this second of the sultry Western-set Coming Home series from New York Times best-selling author Harper Sloan, Quinn Davis might finally have a shot at her own happily ever after - but will she let love in, or will she tell it to go ahead and kiss her boots?

Quinn Davis prefers to live her life quietly. She's the stereotypical tomboy, with two overprotective big brothers who have always been there to protect her, especially from devilishly handsome cowboys with silver tongues. That is until Tate Montgomery comes riding into town. Their first meeting, however, is far from something out of a fairy tale and only further convinces Quinn that men aren't worth her time.

The only place Tate Montgomery ever truly felt at home growing up was during the long, sweltering summer months he spent at his Gram and Paw's farm in Pine Oak, Texas. Now Tate has returned to his childhood sanctuary seeking a fresh start - but if he's being entirely honest, he's not just back for the wranglers and Stetsons. During those summers Quinn was a friend-turned-young-love whom Tate lost when life threw him a curveball and he cut all ties to his past, but all it takes is one glance at the raven-haired beauty he did his best to forget for him to realize just how much he's been missing....

Great Book

I thought this book was as good as the first in the series. The characters showed growth and strength throughout the story. It was more than just a romance. The plot moved at a good pace and who doesn't like a happy ending?

Love Tate!

both narrarators were great but I have to say I could listen to Jason Carpenter all day! That slight drawl it just made the story that much more! This was a beautifully written (and narrated) second chance love story. I was so glad to see not an exorbanant amount of drama and a whole lot of imperfect people working on a perfect Love!

I am loving this series.

Just the right mix of hometown country with some heat. Great second chance romance. Excited for Clay's story.

Second chance at love.

I'm a huge Harper Sloan fan and I loved the first book in this series. I couldn't wait to jump into th8s second chance romance with Tate and Quinn's story. Certain parts of their story felt a bit repetitive. It kind of felt like they were sorting through the same issues over and over again.

One thing I love about second chance romances is watching them work their way back to one another. And once we learn Tate's reasons for staying away, I honestly felt like I've would have done the same thing in his situation. I appreciated his honesty with her about it all and was thankful that Quinn didn't give him the run of the mill to make him grovel for so long.

But I understood Quinn's reason for her lack of trust in Tate. She seriously suffers from abandonment issues with not only Tate, but from her mother and brother. It was justified, but I loved watching her development and taking these issues head one....instead of running from them.

This was definitely a solid read, great small town second chance romance to absolutely adore!

The narrators were not bad, but I favored Tate's narrator more.
