About this listen

Samantha Dixon is about to confess her most secret, romantic Christmas wish to Santa. Heck, what's she got to lose with her disastrous romantic history? Like that player from her horrible blind date last week arranged by her mother. Only guess who's Santa?

Rico del Toro loves women. So one bad date with the beautiful Samantha in a string of many, ahem, successful evenings is no big deal. But when a friendly favor playing Santa unexpectedly lands Samantha on his lap for a romantic confessional, he's intrigued. He's never heard a woman open her heart like that before.

But if this Santa wants a second chance, he'll have to rethink his womanizing ways and convince her that he is the perfect package.

A holiday novella to be enjoyed by all.

What about Charles Lawrence’s performance did you like?

Mr. Lawrence once again does a great narration and voices of the characters.

Any additional comments?

With this novella, we are back to Clover Park. This time two of the secondary characters from previous stories , get their starring role.
Rico works for Travis. He is known as a player but his mother is determined to find him a wife. Rachelle is a web designer, friend of Liz’s (now married to Ryan O’Hare) . Her mother wants her to get married as well. The two mothers set them up for a date. Needless to say, said date was a disaster. They meet again when he subs as a Santa. Rachelle has taken her niece to see Santa, and decided she too would sit on Santa’s lap. It wasn’t after she divulged her secrets and wishes , that she realize it was Rico.
To say that these two were on a rollercoaster ride that was not going very well, is putting it mildly.
You will laugh, get aggravated with both of them, as well as in love with them .
A very nice holiday story to be enjoyed by all.

I was gifted this audiobook. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Holiday in Clover Park.

What did you love best about Kissing Santa?

I thought Rico was a hoot! In his previous sightings in the first book of the series he's seen as a suave player with women falling at his feet, and into his bed, but the reality is that he's totally clueless about women and what they really want. He's got formulated dating down to an art, or so he thinks. He's like a bad Saturday Night Live skit come to life. How can he possibly be so wrong?

What was one of the most memorable moments of Kissing Santa?

I thought the relationship between Samantha and her niece was adorable, especially when Gabriella comes to Samantha asking for more monster spray for her bedroom. Samantha might not have her love life sorted out but she's an absolutely amazing aunt and she obviously enjoys the time they spend together.

Which character – as performed by Charles Lawrence – was your favorite?

My favorite character is Maggie, the crazily outrageous not-your-average grandmother. She has a wicked sense of humor and a passion for life that affects every one of the people she loves, including her grandsons and their wives and girlfriends. Charles Lawrence does a great job at narrating all of the characters in the book but his interpretation of Maggie's voice always puts a smile on my face.

If you could rename Kissing Santa, what would you call it?

I would call it Santa's Arranged Marriage.

Any additional comments?

I love the Clover Park series and all the characters I have met so far. I'm really looking forward to listening to the rest of the series on Audible because Kylie Gilmore and Charles Lawrence are the perfect dynamic duo in comedic romance.

WOW. What a book to listen to loved every minute.

What did you love best about Kissing Santa?

This is a great book about finding love where you least expect to

What other book might you compare Kissing Santa to and why?

All of Kylie Gilmore books in the Clover Park Series. They are all set in the same place and with the same people. She also has the same writing style in them also.

What does Charles Lawrence bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I love his voice. He brought out Rico great. It was just so much better listening to Mr. Lawrence then when I read it by my self.

If you could take any character from Kissing Santa out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Rico. All that he does to try to show Samantha that he is what she want. Who would not want that?

Any additional comments?

I love all of Kylie Gilmore books and Charles Lawrence does a fantastic job with reading them. I am so ready to listen to the next book.

Fun story

Short. sweet and cute! When two meddling mothers set up a date for Samantha and Rico you can probably guess how badly things go. Samantha not wanting to be there was ready to not like him from the start but when she calls him out on his player ways he can't believe it. Determined to show her he can do romantic has these two facing off too many times to count but in the end he proves he really does do romantic!

This is a fun one that you don't want to miss. I listened to the audio version and really enjoyed not only the story but the narration. Definitely one I would recommend.

Mom's and their Matchmaking Schemes...lol

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, I would. This book is very entertaining from the beginning. Samantha and Rico get set up to go on a blind date by their mothers. They are informed that this is for their arranged marriage that the two mothers have put together for them. Neither of them want to go much less intend on falling in love in the process.

What other book might you compare Kissing Santa to and why?

I really haven't read a book like this before, so I have nothing to compare it to. I did love this story though. I had lots of laughs and a few teary moments too.

Which scene was your favorite?

I think my favorite part of the book is the ending, well not quite the ending. It is where Rico proposes. And that is all I'm saying on that. You have to read the book to find out why this is my favorite scene. Okay, I will say it includes music, but that is all I'm saying about the scene.

Who was the most memorable character of Kissing Santa and why?

I love Maggie's character for this question. She kind of ends up pulling all of the pieces together on how Rico and Samantha are brought together for their arranged marriage by their mothers.

Any additional comments?

Reading this book will give you many laughs, you will also be able to relate if you have ever been set up on a blind date by someone. I had a few moments myself that I related to this book and it caused me to tear up a few times as a result.
Also listening to this while Charles Lawrence narrates is a treat, because he always brings out the characters in the book just right. He gives you a sense of being there with them, so you can really picture what is happening.
I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did!

Which scene was your favorite?

When Rico went to the doctor for chest pains.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed several times at Rico's antics and his research to find out what women want.

Christmas in Clover Park

Would you listen to Kissing Santa again? Why?

Yes. It was a quick, happy book that made me smile.

What about Charles Lawrence’s performance did you like?

I love how he has been consistent with the voices through the series.

If you could take any character from Kissing Santa out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Maggie, because she is hysterical and it would be a fun dinner!

Any additional comments?

Kissing Santa was short, funny, and sexy! Rico and Samantha had great chemistry together and I loved that Rico didn't give up. I laughed out loud when he climbed the ladder with roses! I would definitely recommend this audiobook!

But Samantha sets a spark in Rico's heart and he sets out to win her. He is ready to give up his playboy ways and and try to woo her, most of which don't impress her. Will a Christmas miracle happen for their mothers who want them to get married? I received a complimentary audio and I am voluntarily giving a review.

Oh So Funny!

This fourth book in the Clover Park Series was hilarious & I think my favorite of the series! When Rico and Samantha’s mothers arrange a date for the couple neither one is too happy about it. They decide to bite the bullet and go just to appease their mothers and then get on with life. Samantha decides Rico is a player and can't wait to end the evening and Rico just brushes it off as a bad date. However when Rico is obligated to help out a friend and be Santa he is pleasantly surprised to end the night with Samantha sitting on his lap. Thinking she is talking to the regular Santa Samantha confesses her secret romantic dreams. Rico is determined to grant her wishes, no matter what he has to do to give them to her. The antics he goes through to gain her approval is nothing short of hilarious! I really enjoyed this book and look forward to the next one. Charles Lawrence did not disappoint with his amazing narration.
