About this listen

Betrayed by blood... Rose through the ashes...Hell would have been more inviting than what Ole went through for five years. Trapped and betrayed, he was left for dead on the Ashen world. Through sheer drive and force of will, Ole overcame his trials. Uniting with a fallen angel, together they thrived. It wasn't until year five that they found a way home.

Reunited with his lost love, and stepping onto the human realm once more. He has to remember what it's like to deal with humans. How much has he changed? How far will he go to get revenge for the brother that betrayed him?

Creating his own guild is just the beginning. With new companions joining his side, they will have to research new technology to better understand the Ashen world. All the while taking the fight to the Knights of the Blue Order. Their plan is simple. Tear down the Blue Order and kill Niel as everything around him burns.

Through the ashes, Ole has risen. And from the ashes, The Knights of the Ashes are born. A guild that claims the Ashen world as their own.

first book was better

the love triangle really really really took this book in the worse possible direction. there is nothing wrong with romance but every conversation is either about his feelings for the two girls or the conversation devolves into his relationship. even when fighting everything leads right back to the relationship. all the major plot points revolve around his relationship. and on top of that he gives up on the main reason and motivation he fought 5 years to survive for. I was excited for this book but I might be done with this series.

Not quite as good as the first book. Still very good narrator.

Not quite as good as the first book. Still very good narrator. Too much focus on description of fights and random serial references at inopportune times.

Crappy harem plot

Wow, that took a major turn from the first book. The original premise was good and interesting. Why the author turned it into a harem book I don’t know, but I do know I won’t be continuing the series.

Bad love triangle.

Mc became stupid, dull and uninteresting. Everything he fought for in the first book means nothing to him anymore. 50% of this book is females arguing about who gets the idiot. First book was 5 stars. I will not continue this series.

Narration sounded like a whiny teenager.

I liked the first book but the romance killed the whole story. The narrator made the immature romance seem even more childish. I tried but can’t go on with the story which I really did want to like after I read the first book.

Unnecessary Love Triangle that stole the whole focus and doesn’t make sense from the first book.

Nothing like the 1st Book! Terrible and unnecessary love triangle that was contrived and immature! It took over the whole story and turned me on the whole series! Hated it, hard to listen to, completely insufferable!

DNF

Had no interest in a harem romance story. So much focus on sex and love triangle. I signed up for a revenge progression power story. So I'm done.
