Facciamo il punto. Costanza, dopo la laurea in medicina, è stata costretta a lasciare la sua amata e luminosa Sicilia per trasferirsi nel freddo e malinconico Nord. A tenere in caldo i cuori, però, ci pensa Marco, incantevole padre della sua incantevole Flora che Costy, non senza qualche incertezza, ha deciso di portare nella vita della figlia. Dopo varie tribolazioni, Marco ha praticamente lasciato la storica (e decisamente perfetta) fidanzata all’altare.
Costanza (seppur decisamente imperfetta) credeva che l’avesse fatto per lei, ma non ne è più così sicura considerato che Marco prende tempo e si comporta in modo piuttosto ambiguo. Come sempre, però, nella vita di Costanza non c'è spazio per la riflessione: lei è una madre lavoratrice e precaria che al momento si sta autoconvincendo di aver compiuto la scelta giusta decidendo di lasciare l'Istituto di Paleopatologia di Verona per un impiego da anatomopatologa a Venezia. Come se la situazione non fosse abbastanza complicata, gli ex colleghi la richiamano per un incarico dal lauto compenso: l'ultima discendente di un’antica famiglia veneziana, gli Almazàn, desidera scoperchiare le tombe dei suoi antenati per scoprire cosa c’è di vero nelle dicerie calunniose che da secoli ammantano di mistero il casato.
Costanza non vorrebbe accettare, ma questa storia a tinte fosche solletica la sua curiosità... e poi scopre che nell'operazione è coinvolto anche Marco. Che il cantiere possa rappresentare un'occasione d’oro per trovare un equilibrio vita-lavoro? O, per meglio dire: che il cantiere possa rappresentare un'occasione d'oro per cercare di capire cosa c'è davvero tra lei e Marco? Con coraggio, determinazione e tanta, tanta costanza, questa eroina dai capelli rossi affronterà nuove sfide, svelerà antiche trame mentre proverà a comprendere il suo cuore.
