great book the best in a while

one of the Best Buy Louie LaMore but also the longest narrator was a bit slow

Entertaining and cleverly educational

Louis L'Amour might have written books with great plots, believable adventures, and created realistic people to keep the reader enthralled but he cleverly educated us all with the same book! In Last of the Breed he so skillfully presented the Native Americans concepts and some social dogma, I was overjoyed. I almost want to shout that this book is required reading for our melting pot of masses! Our hero in the book spouts stats of the Native Americans role in all our wars, something I know is known by very few non Natives. He repeatedly explains that the word Indian is inaccurate and misleading by trying to lump over five hundred individual tribes into one classification. The author provides a book full of these educational nuggets intertwined with an absorbing adventure. It's a win win for all listeners!

First time with LAmour!

I started feasting the hardcover on vacation. It was in the ol family cabin. Then, I switched to the audio. Even better!
Loved the story. I felt the character was honest.

Top Notch

One of my favorite reads as an early teen. Recently ordered on Audible and listened to on a series of long flights. Louis L'amour at his best indeed. The story is full of bravery, undaunted courage and superb character development. Having travelled some of the areas in Russia where this story takes place, I must say that the word imagery used to create the settings and scenes in near spot on.
Remembering back to my first read of this Novel I must say this should be a mandatory read for every teenage boy and young man.

Edge of your seat writing.

I could not hardly leave this exciting book. The writing is very descriptive, on the edge of your seat listening and nail biting action. Will read again!!! It is long but worth the time, but be sure you have , Time, because it is not a put down book!!

Classic

My first L'Amour novel and most likely not the last, about 30 years overdue for me.

This book would make a great movie!

What a great book. Make it into a movie! It makes me want to go camping.

This was a great read and a nice change of scenery for Louise. Wish there a part two, the ending to part one is amazing.
