Another great from Lorrhaine

The story, though short, really tugged at my heartstrings, this is the second audiobook that I listened to written by the author, Ms. Eckhart, and I have to say that she kept my emotions scattered all over the place. The narrator for me was just okay. I was expecting just one narrator to do all the series, but this one is a bit different with the other audiobook that I heard, some parts of the narration was a bit off for me.

I would really love to read and listen to the other "The Friessens" stories, when I get the chance. Because I felt that I am missing a lot of other things.

A complimentary copy of this audiobook was given to me but my review was voluntary and in no way influenced by the author.

Wonderful story!

I'm a somewhat new fan of Lorhainne Eckhart's books. I actually have about all of them in Kindle format but just haven't made time to read them. As a fairly new audiobook addict, I've jumped at the chance to receive some of her audios in exchange for a review, including this one. The only problem with this is that I've listened to her series out of order. It didn't matter for some of the books but I really wished I'd read books 6-9 in order.

That being said, Leave the Light On was a wonderful book and I don't regret listening to it out of order. I know this sounds like I'm contradicting myself but just because I prefer reading/listening to series in order I don't want to discourage anyone else from picking this up even if they haven't read the preceding books.

Because I'd read In the Family (book 9 or 10 depending on what list you are looking at) I already knew some of what happened in this story. What I didn't know is how things happened or why. This story had a lot of suspense to it for me and I was kept on the edge of my seat waiting for things to happen.

While this is a relatively short audiobook it really packed a punch. I'm so delighted that I finally have experienced the stories in this series. My one disappointment is that they all aren't yet available in audio format.

I almost forgot to say anything about the narration… Leave the Light On is the first book I've listened to by K. Richardson and I liked it. One small criticism is that I thought her voice sounded almost too happy in some places; like the character was grinning and it just didn't fit for me at times.

I'm finding it a bit strange that this series has so many different narrators. In other favorite series this would have bothered me but it hasn't seemed to make a difference in The Friessens and I'm really enjoying it.

Like it until...

Spoiler: I liked the story until the in laws came into the picture. The heroine and her parents just allowed the mother in law to abuse and blame her for her missing husband. She should tell the mother to leave her own house. Instead, she acted all though but no backbones to back it up. I loved this series but I do not like weak and stupid heroine, especially the one with no backbones. I would’ve given 5 stars because I loved this couple. I will continue with the next story about this couple. Unless the heroine is a doormat then, I will give up.
