About this listen

In this 13th Justice Security story, Lieutenant Michelle (Mickey) Rooney of the Chicago Police Department returns, along with Detective Sam Tanner and ex-cop Manny Salazar.

This time, two of them have a price on their heads, along with Joey Justice of Justice Security. The bounty has been placed on them by insane Mexican drug cartel leader Esteban Fernandez. Fernandez has hired Lido Bouvier, a wild Cajun assassin, to eliminate all three.

Bouvier is known to the underground as the Lido Shuffle because of his “shuffling” of murder techniques...and because of his ability to escape capture.

Joey brings Mickey Rooney, Sam Tanner, and Manny Salazar to his Southern city to better protect them from Bouvier...but who will protect Joey and Justice Security?

Basic mystery story

This was a pretty basic mystery. Certainly not my favorite narrator though. Nothing about the story really makes me want to read additional titles in the series.

Nearly as good as his previous books

Although this book was nearly as good as his previous justice league security novels, The narrator sometimes made it hard to really get into the story. It was told from Nikkis point of you and Darla the narrator did good on those parts. I have to say that perhaps she should have stayed with that voice as opposed to impersonating many of the other characters especially the ones with French accent. But other than that , the story itself was really good. Exciting, fast paced, a page turner as usual.

Enjoyed

Justice Security team, a insane drug cartel has put a bounty on two of their heads. Different plot and well done, and full of action. The narration added to the suspense. Well done and enjoyed. Given audio for my voluntary review

Stacking the deck!

Michelle (Mickey) Rooney, Sam Tanner, and Manny Salazar are ordered to attend a seminar in Chicago by Joey Justice of Justice Security. The seminar is a sham, what Joey wants to tell them is that there’s a price on all their heads by the Mexican drug cartel led by General Esteban Fernandez. Fernandez has hired the Cajun assassin, Lido Bouvier “Lido Shuffle” to eliminate them. This is in response to Justice kicking the Cartel out of Chicago earlier. Joey brings them to Chicago for protection but avoiding Lido was more difficult than expected. The Irish Mafia became involved when they offered sanctuary to Lido. Continuing, the story detailed Lido’s execution attempts, the Irish mob’s reaction, and Justice Security’s reprisal. It’s not a bad story, it’s more about the characters, their backgrounds, and future proposals for them all. I guess that makes sense as it is book thirteen of a series. I was only able to pick up books thirteen and eight, which I will listen to next.
