Publisher's summary
in Maggie Stiefvater's Shiver, Grace and Sam found each other. Now, in Linger, they must fight to be together. For Grace, this means defying her parents and keeping a very dangerous secret about her own well-being. For Sam, this means grappling with his werewolf past...and figuring out a way to survive into the future. Add into the mix a new wolf named Cole, whose own past has the potential to destroy the whole pack. And Isabelle, who already lost her brother to the wolves...and is nonetheless drawn to Cole.
At turns harrowing and euphoric, Linger is a spellbinding love story that explores both sides of love - the light and the dark, the warm and the cold - in a way you will never forget.

Tired of listening to stories about humans? Consider the werewolf! Taking various forms over the course of centuries and mythologies, often as flesh-devourers, werewolves now commonly appear in fantasy and romance novels as shape-shifters. The shape-shifting element in werewolves' stories has almost humanized them, depicting the internal struggles we all face within ourselves, on some level or another.

Fantastic sequel!
After listening to Shiver in a matter of days, I was thrilled when I had Linger ahead of me to listen to. The storyline was fanastic and had some really wonderful scenes. I especially liked the transformation of Cole. I'm looking forward to the final chapter, Forever, due out in July. Thank you Maggie for such fun reads. :)

Ahhhhh young love!!!
If you could sum up Linger in three words, what would they be?
Tender teenage angst....
What did you like best about this story?
I liked how Sam and Grace refuse to give up on each other...even though everything was falling apart...
Which scene was your favorite?
I am going to say when Cole meets Isabel for the first time...even thought this book s a whole is very enjoyable...
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Oh yes...tears near the end...and there were some cute funny parts...
Any additional comments?
Again I wasn't sure if I was going to like this 2nd story in the beginning...I don't like it when the switch narrators on me...and switching the narrator for Sam could have ruined this one for me...but I gave it a chance and ended up loving this book I think a little more than the first one...this story is a little more raw in my opinion and I will be starting #3 right away! If you enjoyed the first one...you will love this one too...2 thumbs up!

Maggie's writing is like poetry
What made the experience of listening to Linger the most enjoyable?
I love hearing the voices of Sam, Grace and Cole, but not Isabel.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Linger?
When Sam was made to leave Grace's hospital room, and said "my life is in this bed"
What does Jenna Lamia bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Jenna sounds like I imagine Grace would. She's a great voice actor.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Cole made me laugh, and Sam made me cry. I was blown away when Shelby killed Olivia.
Any additional comments?
Really dislike Emma Gavin's voice, Isabel would not have sounded like her.

Linger was good but I must say that I enjoyed Shiver (the first book) more. Linger did just that...Linger. I enjoyed the overall story plot but wished it could have been condensed somewhat. I would only recommend reading if you have already read Shiver.

Sam and Grace: the Transition
I love this book and the series. I am not sure why people are so pissed about the alternating POV's but it wasn't bad at all. Each character had their own personality and the story flowed really well. Great Narration! I enjoyed hearing each person from their own "voice".
We picked up with Sam having gotten the "cure" and now he is functioning as a human. Him and Grace are enjoying the winter together, but waiting for the other shoe to drop with the new werewolves.
We meet the one Beck chose to replace Sam and his name is Cole.
Cole appeared to be a narcissist in the beginning, always whinning about how his life sucked, but after awhile he grew on me. I don't know why he was so sick of his life, as it didn't seem bad to me, but he began "doing" for others. I like the connection between Isabella and Cole because they were the anti-Sam and Grace.
This book was a turning point for Grace both in her life with her parents and in her development as well. I look forward to seeing how these changes affects her life plans with Sam and with her parents.
On an unrelated point--I hate Mr. Culpepper (ISabella's dad). I want someone to shoot him!
