Not what I expected

Loved a lot of the story but, just wasn't what I was looking for. Narrator did an excellent job.

I'm 10 Chapters in

After the 1st book I grew to love the characters... now 2nd book and I'm 10 chapters in ... And OMG! Amara makes me cringe she's a spoiled self righteous little Brat! and I'm having a hard time investing here, She's so whiny and indignant... But I'm gonna try for "the sake of the pack" to stick it out!

Finding a place to belong

I really enjoyed this book. The author was creative and this story has wolves, mates (both good and bad), protectors, old practices, a haunted forest, demons and sex.

It glossed over things like the haunted forest, gave details almost after the action was necessary, and the sex seemed unnecessary at the end.

All the women in her family and her mates families were strong in different ways. I would definitely say 17+ (R). Cliffhanger, but not in a bad way.

Cliffhanger and No Continuation

I hate when audiobooks switch narrators. Stephanie Rose developed these characters and made them her own, only to have someone else some and narrate the third book.

Also-- the author uses weird phrases during sex. Referring to the vagaina as a ribbon and so on. Just.....weird.

Could have been a good series but now I feel as if I wasted my money.

Pleasantly surprised

I actually really enjoyed this book… I actually enjoyed the second book better than the first. I’m glad I continue to read this series. The character development is exactly what I would expect from a reverse harem although the main character has been through a lot I enjoy her determination.

The strong connections

Being entwined in their lives and feeling their love and respect for others. Going back to the old world and fighting the demons was a bit confusing. I lost the connection with the characters.

I slogged through the first book

but couldn't continue through the second. this narrator is as close to Virtual Voice for her dispassionate delivery as I've heard yet. She made the characters lack depth or connection, or maybe that was how they were written. Storyline failed to suspend reality, or relatability to the characters and their "instalust" relationships lacked depth or development. very 2 dimensional.
