LOVE ANN CHARLES

Love Ann Charles, but not a fan of Lisa Larson, sorry Lisa. I live in south Texas and have NEVER heard Angelica pronounced OnHellica. I know it’s correct be it sounds horrible.
I really felt like a “man” should have done the audio on these stories

The narrator is ruining this for me. UPDATED

I am in chapter 6 and I love the storyline. I can tell it would be a great book with the right narrator. I hate to say it but this narrator is making me frustrated. She sounds like she is trying to keep her voice quiet or something and it is making her sound like a boring teacher reading a power point during lecture. The conversations between the characters is narrated as if they are gossiping to each other in a corner, and her cadence is off. The pregnant pauses are too short and the delay between sentences is too long. I am really hoping she gets better.

UPDATE: I should have just counted to ten and listened for 15 more minutes. Please disregard my earlier rant. The narration is great! I’m totally shocked. Could be the wine.

Terrible narration😭

Couldn’t the powers that be hire someone who could actually pronounce the Spanish names, locations and accent? The “Spanish accent” sounds like muffled Irish or Scottish. A huipil is pronounced Wee-Peel not WhoPill. I love the author so I got through it but it could have been SO MUCH BETTER with someone who could pronounce the words more authentically and didn’t sound so bland.

Look What the Wind Blew In: A Review

Great mystery. Lots of laughs, scary moments, and a love story. Lisa Larson is a great narrator. I can't believe she did all of those voices and accents. I love Ann Charles. I would read anything she writes. Don't miss this great audiobook!

New narrator please

Sorry Ms Larson, but your attempt at a Spanish accent is an epic fail. The word Yucatan is generally pronounced toy-cah-tan, not yuck-ah-tan. Some of the characters sounded more middle Eastern rather than Latino. It was pretty awful all the way through the book, but still better than the voice actress who usually reads Ms Charles books.

Very disappointing

I have loved the previous series by this author the dancing Winnebagos and the deadwood mysteries. They were fantastic so I was very disappointed in this first book of this new series. The characters and story were just too predictable and boring I ended up returning this book
