Publisher's summary

Vincent Lemarco is a Hollywood heartthrob, until the fateful day when a car accident leaves him horribly disfigured and ends his acting career. Alone and trying to piece his life back together, he moves to Little Creek, the small town where he was born and where he is known only as the reclusive Vincent Blake.

He is happy to keep to himself and mourn his losses, until the day he finds an injured dog along the side of the road. Annie, the veterinarian who fixes up the injured dog, soon becomes the woman Vincent's heart longs for.

It seems as if Vincent is getting a second chance at life and love when a call from his agent, offering one last shot at stardom, puts everything in jeopardy. Will he choose to return to the Hollywood life of Vincent Lemarco or stay in Little Creek with the woman he loves?

Wonderful, wonderful story!!!

Would you listen to Loving a Fallen Star again? Why?

I would and will definitely re-listen to this book. It was/is a great story about friendship and love.

Have you listened to any of Logan McAllister’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

A modern day Beauty and the Beast would by my tag line.

Any additional comments?

I love listening to romance books! I love reading/listening books about wounded souls. This one definitely fits the bill. Vincent is a BIG star, a star too big for his britches. Unfortunately, he finds out the hard way and life takes him down a notch. He is in an accident and it leaves him badly scarred. He moves back home to lick his wounds. This is where he rescues an injured dog, and when he takes him to the local veterinarian, Annie. Annie is also licking her own wounds. Her now ex-husband left her for a younger bimbo. Vincent and Annie are both now very wary of starting a relationship, however, as they start to get to know each other things start changing between them.
I loved this story, the author Jane B. Night did a phenomenal job creating this wonderful story, it is sort of a Beauty and the Beast story. Neither Vincent or Annie believing they are lovable the way they are. I really enjoyed the emotional trip that this book took me on.
Logan McAllister did a splendid job in the performance of this book. His performance really took me into the story.
I was gifted with an audio copy to this story for my honest opinion. I look forward to reading/listening to more from this pair in the future.

Loving a Fallen Star

"This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review courtesy of Audiobook Blast."

A short listen about starting over and second chances. A little bit predictable, but yet sweet.

The narration was well done. The characters were excellently portrayed.

Beauty and the beast reboot

I received this audiobook from Audiobook Blast, free by the publisher in exchange for an unbiased review.

The writer seems new to her craft, but there's hope. The narrator is where this book really falls short his speech is monotone and distracts from this short story. Don't waste a credit on this one, with a different narrator, and if on sale, I would try more from this promising author.

Short but Sweet!

"This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review courtesy of Audiobook Blast."

I don't often read books this short, because I'm usually disappointed with character development. This book isn't great, but it is good. It has a dog story AND a sweet love story so what's not to like.

Narrator is decent, although he could slow down just a bit, to give a bit more feeling to the story. But he did read well and I always knew which character was talking.

The character's aren't perfect, so much more realistic than lots of books. Love the mention of audiobooks in Vincent's future plans ;O)

I'm kind of hoping this is one of those books where the author will realize the great opportunity with this story, and rewrite it into a full-length book. It could be a terrific book.

As is often the case, due to the brevity of this book and it's cost, it's not really worth a credit. But it is def worth a read. You can get through the whole book in one day :O)

Warm, loving romance

--I was given this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

This was a fun, true to life, listen. Vincent LeMarco, a famous, handsome actor was in a horrible car crash leaving him disfigured and his acting career over. Annie, the local veterinarian helps him with an injured dog he finds. With the accident, Vincent becomes very humbles and realizes the worth of people. Annie has her own demons coming out of a marriage where her husband cheated on her, she has image issues and health problems. These two are destined for each other and their sweet, passionate path made for a wonderful afternoon listen.

Logan McAllister has a very rich voice and pulls off the part of suave, conceited actor well. I love his voice. The balance of his performace did not disappoint. Definitely will seek out more of his narration.

Delightful!

Vincent Lemarco is a Hollywood star who thoroughly plays the part. He's arrogant, self-centered, a womanizer, but there's no doubt that he's talented. After imbibing far too much at a Hollywood party, his life is forever changed when he has a devastating car crash that burns a lot of his body. He faces months of physical therapy and his prognosis is unknown. He moves back to his hometown, Little Creek, to heal  privately and reverts to his birth name of Vincent Blake. He comes across a large dog in the road and he gets out to make sure he's alive and takes him to the Little Creek veterinarian. Annie moved to Little Creek after her marriage imploded. Her unfaithful husband left her for his nurse, so she took her Golden Retriever, Xander, and escaped. When Vincent arrives at the vet's office with the dog, they meet and a spark sizzles between them. It's obvious to Vincent that Annie has no idea who he is. Unlike most people, Annie doesn't shrink back from his scars that resulted from his accident. She sees a good man in his eyes and he can't believe that he found a good-hearted woman. But Hollywood comes calling and offers Vincent a job. What happens when Annie learns that he's not really a simple, albeit gorgeous and wealthy, resident of the small town. After what they meant to each other, I was very disappointed with Annie's over the top reaction and she'd better practice her apologies if she wanted him back. Logan McAllister is one of my favorite narrators. His smooth, dynamic voice is perfect for the male and female characters. The pacing and inflection are particularly well-done.

A lot of story in a short listen

Loving a Fallen Star is an entertaining, short, sweet, "circumstances cause serious personality and life changes" story. Vincent was a handsome, rich, famous and rather douchey, Hollywood actor until fate slapped him with a serious dose of karma that left him unable to use his looks in his career. Annie was a stressed-out but dedicated wife whose husband dumped her for the younger, thinner, hotter chick he knocked up and left her feeling low. Both make new starts in Little Creek- Vincent as a broody recluse and Annie with her own veterinary practice. When they meet, life changes for them both. I really liked Annie in the beginning, and then I. did. not. and ended up having to blame her behavior on temporary insanity brought on by hormones in order to enjoy the HEA.

In spite of that, I really liked the overall story. I loved Vincent and was happy with the way it all worked out. The fact that the author was able to write a story where I cared enough about the characters to love and/or love/hate them in such a short span of time says good things about her, and I will absolutely look forward to more audiobooks written by Jane B Night.

The narrator, Logan McAllister has a deep, sexy, kind of a Joe Friday tone and cadence when not reading dialogue, and I loved that. As for the dialogue, he did a great job with male and female voices and had good pronunciation, inflection and emotion. He's one to watch, as he has the kind of sexy voice that will work well with a lot of audiobooks.

I received this audiobook for free in exchange for an unbiased review. The number of stars I award in the 5-star rating system is based on where I believe this audiobook rates with other audiobooks of the same type, length and general feel-- not where it rates in comparison to all audiobooks of all time.

A good short romance book

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. I enjoyed the storyline and how both the characters had to overcome difficult odds in order to try to find love.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I didn't particularly enjoy the performance, although I liked the book itself.

How could the performance have been better?

The actor was stilted and it bothered me throughout the entire reading. But I liked the plot so much, I listened anyway.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When the male character found a dog and immediately bonded with it, which led him to meeting the female character.
