Marcus has spent his entire life toiling in the shadowy depths of the Lunar mining colony, along with his companions. Their mission? To extract crucial resources and energy essential for sustaining the distant colonies on the lunar surface. Despite the demanding and solitary nature of their work, Marcus clings to the promise of a brighter future, hoping for a more prestigious position and even a chance to experience life on the fabled surface colonies in his twilight years.
Living under the stringent rule of an unseen authority, the miners adhere to strict schedules and endure unyielding labor. The prospect of advancement or relocation sustains their optimism, until Marcus's perspective is shattered by the unexpected fate of his friend, Theo. Upon completing his mining duties, instead of the anticipated rewards, Theo is abruptly dispatched to a mysterious "colony" under a veil of secrecy, leaving Marcus bewildered and disheartened.
As Marcus investigates deeper into the reality behind the administration's assurances, he unearths disquieting truths about the true purpose of the colony and the destinies of those who "retire." His pursuit for clarity uncovers a labyrinth of deceit that surpasses his worst apprehensions, revealing the stark reality of life beneath the lunar surface.
