Publisher's summary

Some might consider him a bit of a beast. Others knew him to be particular and demanding. The Marquess of Penrith didn't really care. After returning from war, all he wanted was peace and quiet. But duty and honor demanded that he marry the young Miss Davis. An obligation that could not be denied.

Luckily, marriage did not equate to love.

Miss Catherine Davis dreaded the thought of marrying such a man. But what choice did she have? Penniless and without family, her options were limited. The fact that he was extremely handsome, powerful, and rich only made things worse.

Two people from different worlds forced together, both searching for happiness. Perhaps they can only find it by coming together.

Best of the series.

This was the best story of the series in my opinion, the link to the other books is extremely tenuous, with only a couple of mentions of the Duke. As with her other books too much illicit sexual content, so I had to fast forward. I won’t be listening to anything else from her for this reason.

A diverting period romance

Marrying the Marquess is a diverting period romance about an orphan who goes to work for a Marquess and ends up married to him. There are some complications of course, and there is a villain, making for an entertaining story.

Contains sex scenes. Recommended for mature readers/ listeners.

The narrator of the audiobook does a nice job bringing it to life.

I received a complementary copy of this audiobook. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Marrying a Marquess

All I can say is it was too short. I would have liked to have had more.

against the odds

It was heartwarming to see a poor girl win the lottery of love by marrying Mason the Marquess. Just when things seem to be settling in well. a feind tries to take all the happiness away. I loved Mason's response to the blackmail. Chivalry is not dead. Swoon!! I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a great job bringing it to life.

Sweet Romance

Miss Catherine Davis was orphaned at a young age, but a mysterious benefactor provided her with an education befitting a lady far above her station. When her schooling was done, she was told to present herself at the estate of Mason Harper, The Marquess of Penrith for a position. There she and Mason discover that his father's dying wish is for Mason to marry her. Mason unwillingly agrees, and Catherine finds herself the wife of a very reluctant Marquess.

This was a sweet romance with no steamy scenes. Catherine was sweet and kind, and I was rooting for her throughout the story. Mason deserved his strong wake up call, with his "resisting" his wife and never thinking about how it might affect her. The ending was great and I'll listen to more by the author.

The narration was well done, and pulled me into the story. I requested a copy of the audiobook, and I'm voluntarily leaving a review.

Sweet Steamy Romance for 18+ Readers

I really enjoyed this story a lot, it has great character development, a fun plot, and simply a really sweet steamy romance. My only frustration is the ending was a bit too abrupt and I would have like the story to have continued a bit further. The narrator did a much better job on this book and was fun to listen to as well. To those who like the sweet romance novels where the bedroom door is closed and the story is kept clean-- this book keeps the door wide open with lots of description given, so it's definitely an 18+ read.

Damaged Regency Military Hero Weds Finishing Schoo

A tired and abused military hero returns from war in France to find he is ordered by his father to marry a working class orphan who has just graduated from finishing school. This Regency romance has a few appropriately adult sections. This is book 4 and works as stand alone. Series is very loosely linked by the heroes having served in the Army together.

Oddly, without explanation or announcement, at the end of the audiobook, chapter 1 from part of the series plays.

Boooooooring

I just couldn’t finish it and it was only 4 hours. No real character development. No plot. Just words strung together.
