Jesse was my best friend for almost 14 years. I thought she was a dog. She thought I was her entertainment director. "A person in a dog suit" was what one friend always said. I wondered. Jesse traveled throughout the United States and Canada with me. She watched the world go by with a smile for everyone she met. She wasn't the worst dog nor the best dog. She was just quite a character whom friends and family still talk about—even after all these years. They laugh about her antics and her goofy personality, which provided many stories.
Written in 2001, the story about Jesse's very busy life is intertwined with the story of how this book came to be. That story is true and took place in a small town in Ireland. It's full of fate and luck and was a romance novel in the making.... Jesse's story shows that dogs can be "woman's best friend" too. You'll enjoy the fun!
