A bit slow

There is too much lecture and too little action until nearly the end of the book. I disliked the hurried ending which seemed to come out of nowhere. Parts were good but I can’t see reading anything else by this author.

Interesting story

I enjoyed it, but it wasn't scary. Most of the story read more like a fascinating lecture in college on marine science as the writer has done a lot of research on the aquatic ape theory, but overall I enjoyed it.

Exciting

Pulled me right in. Kept the excitement throughout. Developed characters quickly and the story never slowed down.

Great story not so great narration

I really enjoyed the story. it didn't end how I thought it would. The narration was awful. I think a better narrator could have been chosen.

The folklore of it and the enjoyable science behind it all

Absolutely loved the read, has been a long time since I’ve had one make my skin crawl listening to it!

What a let down.

I was expecting a bloodbath and got a dull swim. This was less about aquatic adventure than academic redemption. I would have preferred an exploration of aquatic society, a underwater haunted house, a gorrible gorrible toothy ending… but what I got was a body hunt for a teaching position at Oxford.

Boo!
