Magic, danger, and adventure abound for messenger Karigan G'ladheon in the fifth book in Kristen Britain's New York Times-bestselling Green Rider fantasy series

Karigan G’ladheon is a Green Rider—a seasoned member of the elite messenger corps of King Zachary of Sacoridia. King Zachary sends Karigan and a contingent of Sacoridians beyond the edges of his nation, into the mysterious Blackveil Forest, which has been tainted with dark magic by a twisted immortal spirit named Mornhavon the Black.

In a magical confrontation against Mornhavon, Karigan is jolted out of Blackveil Forest and wakes in darkness. She’s lying on smooth, cold stone, but as she reaches out, she realizes that the stone is not just beneath her, but above and around her as well. She’s landed in a sealed stone sarcophagus, some unknown tomb, and the air is becoming thin.

Is this to be her end? If she escapes, where will she find herself? Is she still in the world she remembers, or has the magical explosion transported her somewhere completely different? To find out, she must first win free of her prison—before it becomes her grave. And should she succeed, will she be walking straight into a trap created by Mornhavon himself?

Excellent Narration

overall I'm very pleased with the book. I like this one better than most in the series. I just want to tip my hat to Ellen Archer, great work with the narration.

WOW just Wow

I have been a huge fan from the first Green Rider. This book takes you in a direction that while dark and dangerous does not mitigate the preceding books. While I wasn't surprised of the setting (K Britten) alluded to it several times she did a Great job. I would like to see a happier ending for Kagerigan [sic]. Alas she is the Nobel, tragic heroine. Can not wait for the next installment.

As a side note I love the fact Kirsten Britten is a fellow New Mexican.

Fantastic

I think this is one of the best stories I've ever listen to. The complexities of the characters and the world they live in are just astounding. You should read it if you get the chance.

excellent addition to a great series.

Each book continues to get better as the author overturns expectation and creates interesting plot twists with believable, deep characters tugging at your heart strings with action leaving you on the edge of your seat.

leveled up

I've enjoyed most books in this series at a moderate level, but this one really leveled up the story-telling and became a "can't put it down" situation. Really well done and captivating and with a truly perfect ending.

Another excellent Green Rider book

Still love the character development despite this not being my favorite book of the series. I missed the original landscape and I like the King better than Cade.

A bit drawn out

I enjoyed the book very much but there were times when less would have been more.

Great narrator, not Kristen Britain's best work

Ellen Archer did a fabulous job but the story felt generic and a little predictable. Not terrible, but definitely not the same caliber as the first Green Rider novel (my favorite of the series). Curious to see how the next book turns out.
