Montana Wild

This is a well written book, I liked it a lot. It has wonderful story lines. It is highly entertaining. The narrator has a wonderful voice. The only things I didn’t care much for was the music between the chapters and I would have liked to hear the narrator change her voice and emotions between the different characters. As I said the story was highly entertaining and had good story lines and I look forward to hearing more from this author. This book was given to me in exchange for a honest review. I would recommend this book to anyone and look forward to hearing more from this author. A+++

Thrills chills excitement heartwarming

Losing two people who are so much of your life within days of each other can be hard. To leave one who is about to die to take care of the other's funeral etc can be very tough. Being a nurse you will lose a few and some you come to love just as if they were your own family. For Jamie is so torn between leaving one behind to deal with her favorite aunt who was there for her when no one else was. The author does a wonderful job laying the story out with wonderful detail filling in the story as you get to know the characters. Two people talk on the phone for many months they come to know each other both losing that one person they both love. The book starts out with Kevin calling Jamie to see how she is doing and thank her for taking such good care of his uncle. They have had many long talks but have never met. He is going on a rafting trip and invites her along. After some talking he talks her into it, from there the story goes into them meeting for the first time, getting to know each other and his friends along with some wild wonderful rapids and lots of fun but danger is never far away. This is where the story starts to get interesting as a city girl meets county life things can get a little wild. At this point the author does a wonderful job twisting the story with the details of the wild ride to the danger from animals to the water. There are a few things here that will make your heart beat fast and then almost making it stop. With hand-to-mouth I held my breath waiting to see the outcome. This will not be the first time the author will throw a spin that keeps you on the edge.

Ms. Hall gives you a wonderful delightful narration keeping you on the edge as she spins her way into your heart. Her many character voices were wonderful from her sexy males to her lovely females along with a child that will steal your heart. There is no repeating of words, no volume changes, and no background noises just a delightful listen that really pulls you in. Her tones are right on the money you can hear the excitement, fear, danger, humor, laughter, sorrow, doubt, and the starting of new love in her voice. I always knew who was talking and what they were feeling. Ms. Hall’s performance was wonderful. At times, I thought her voice was a little to cheery, I don’t know really how to explain it, she just sounded no sunny to bright. It did not take away from the audio and it is just my opinion. I thought her normal voice was very pleasant and easy to listen to. She really bought the landscapes to life for me making it easy to picture the land, ranch, and river in my mind. It was easy to picture the characters as well along with all they were going through. For a first time narrator she really did an outstanding job. I am very much looking forward to listening to more of her work.

The author really puts a lot of thought into the plot with some major twists and turns that are heart stopping, exciting, and at times fun but also makes you feel the fear the character is going through. I really liked the buildup of the romance it was slow and steady but really they had already pretty much fell for each other through their long talks on the phone. The supporting characters are great I really liked them, and they add a lot to the story. There were a couple of places I didn’t think moved smoothly but for a debut novel it was a great story. The author really brought it to life as she described the land and things that were going on around you gives it a feel of realistic pulling the reader in. You have no trouble picturing the scenes as they unfold. She really pulls on your heartstrings from the first page until the last. There is danger throughout the story that fits so well from the rapids to Jamie’s ex. It is a very touching and emotional read that you have no trouble feeling the pain, sorrow, thrills, excitement and the oh so much danger. I bought into this plot all the way giving me a delightful listen with the thrills of a stalker, and a sweet child that stole my heart along with the beautiful ranch in Montana. Both Jamie and Kevin have secrets some good and some bad. It is never fun when one is in fear of their life with a mad man on their heels. Will they out live the danger, will Jamie walk away or will one man take them all out? It is worth your time, you will really enjoy the audio both the narrator and author bring you a delightful story of hope, love, and starting over. It is a very emotional heartwarming read.

I enjoyed it

Overall, I enjoyed this listen. The narrator has a strong, clear voice and is easy to listen to. That being said, she doesn’t use a large range of voices so many of the characters sound almost exactly the same. Sometimes it’s difficult to figure out who is talking. Not always an issue, but it happened more than once while I was listening.

I enjoyed the love story. I liked the scene where they were stargazing - so romantic! And when Jamie says that she doesn’t sweat, she glistens. Haha!! I loved the story when it took place in Montana. I didn’t love when they went back to New York. Most of the book takes place in Montana though, so that was great! I enjoyed the characters and Jamie’s positive, friendly personality. The music in between chapters was pretty, but I wish they didn’t start the narration while the music was still playing because sometimes it drowns out the words.

Overall an enjoyable book!

This is a really good book, the narration was very good, the only thing I didn't like was the music between each chapter, it was a little distracting
