Constance Duncan has more important things on her mind than finding a husband - for herself, at any rate. Constance connects lonely hearts, and nothing will distract her from it - until she finds herself irresistibly drawn to a man of disastrously different views. Max Ensor is a politician whose outmoded attitudes outrage her - even as his powerful presence intrigues her. Clearly there is only one thing to do with such an exasperating man: convert him! Little does Constance know that Max has the same plan in mind for her....

A spinster who lives on the sufferance of her relatives, she would certainly not presume to search the rooms of her host's son and his friend looking for evidence. Reared in the twin virtues of deference and docility, she would absolutely never think to question the imperious Duke of Kesgrave about anything, let alone how he chose to represent the incident to the local constable. loved it! I love the extra chapter where the author outlines her research of the 1920's from cultural sayings, about 20 book titles, and that she created a pintrest board of fashions and photos of a famous film star of the day.

Most enjoyable
Truly enjoyed both the story line and the narration.
Not full of a lot of useless plot twists but, the guiltily party was not who I expected it to be.

very similar to Rhys Bowen's Her Royal Spyness series ... character different enough that I'll try again

good mystery set in 1920s.
A young woman in England becomes a detective to help out her aunt and cousin. Lots of misleads and clues.

Fabulous
Great narrorator and even better plot! Like a grown up version of Nancy Drew. I really enjoyed this book and hope to download and complete the whole series.

Not Rosett’s best
This is the first and last of this series that I will listen to. The story line itself was okay but I didn’t like the haughty English in this book. I usually enjoy Sara Rosett. I was disappointed.
