About this listen
Murdered in the Man Cave is a cozy mystery novel by bestselling crime writer R. Barri Flowers.
In the first book of this exciting new cozy series, Riley Reed has a popular blog offering advice on home décor and renovation and does part-time consulting work in Cozy Pines, Oregon.
When Riley is asked by an old flame, Brent London, a bestselling mystery writer, to help him spruce up his man cave as a newly single man, she readily accepts the assignment. But when she discovers him bludgeoned to death with a pool cue in his man cave, she finds herself thrust into the investigation to track down the killer.
The suspects are many, including three of Brent's four ex-wives, two girlfriends, his niece, a former research assistant, a financial advisor, and his housekeeper.
When two people are arrested for Brent's murder, Riley is less than convinced that the true culprits are in custody, and makes it her mission to prove otherwise.
An alleged suicide and confession seems a bit too pat for Riley, who risks her own life to get at the truth.
Fans of cozy mysteries will find Murdered in the Man Cave the perfect start to an entertaining and all-consuming cozy series.

Quick cozy
"Murdered in the Mancave" by R. Barri Flowers was a cute and perfectly cozy, cozy mystery. I found it intriguing to follow along with once the mystery kicked in. I did have a pretty good idea of who the killer was. However, I did have doubts from time to time as new information was given. In the end I was right, but that didn't take away from the mystery.

Good easy read/listen...
If I had it to do over I would have skipped the audible and read this book. The person reading drove me crazy!! She made the main character seem so pompus and annoying (I went and read a couple chapters and came away with a totally different opinion of the book and character!!), her inflections were off all through the book. I will not get the audible version of any more books she does.
All that being said the bones of the book were really good and characters likable and interesting. A great easy summer (or anytime) who done it read :-)

The narrator can make an audiobook...or break it
This story had a decent storyline, but I struggled to get past the narration. I felt like my grandma was reading me a bedtime story. Each word was pronounced with precision, and it did not sound natural. There was hardly any voice distinction between characters, so I kept getting lost.
The story was somewhat hard to follow with all of the characters. None of the characters had much depth. I was enticed by the tag line of a character who blogs about home decor and such, but that was barely part of the story.
All in all, it was a disappointment.
