Solid highland world building with nice romance

I enjoyed the story. The character development served to move the story forward, whether through direct exposition or through conversation and action. The plot mixed suspense, adventure, and romance to create a superb reading/listening experience. Dave Gillies is a master of narration. He brought this highland romantic adventure to life with his vocal talent.

Truly enjoyable!

I wasn't expecting to enjoy this book as much as I did. I like Vonda Sinclair but I get disgusted with how much I don't seem to remember from previous books. (I remember details well and hate to be unclear!). Too much time and too many books come between I suppose. Anyway, it didn't matter with this one, I knew I was missing things but the book still stood alone and was a entire experience on its own. Well done!

Dave Gillies isn't my favorite male narrator. He does a good job and you never doubt who is speaking, however his accent seems a little....... harsh? odd? off? wrong? It's hard to rate him! One to ten gives him a seven. Be sure to preview his work and decide for yourself.

Heat? Well, it was one scene and well written, tasteful. The chemistry between this pair is great!

Creditworthy? Yes. Short, sweet, well worth it!

A short story but riveting

Yes this was a short story but I found it riveting. The way the love developed between Shamus and Maili was very endearing. In this fast paced story, there was plenty of action right from the start and all this was brought to life by the excellent narration by Dave Gillies. The different voices he uses gives an added Interest for the listener. This is an ideal length for when time is short.

Short But Sweet!

This novella was a short but very sweet romance. Shamus MacKenzie had no idea when he was taken captive, after falling overboard during a storm, that he would meet a beautiful, irresistible maiden. Maili MacDonald has the gift of second sight but has always been looked upon with fear or disgust from her family and clan. When she has a vision of a warrior nearly drowning then being caught and beaten she feels compelled to help him. Shamus and Maili’s story was sweet, romantic and thoroughly enjoyable. It was also nice to hear more about Isobel’s brothers, who we were introduced to in earlier books in the series. Dave Gillies continues to bring Vonda Sinclair’s wonderful stories to life with his exceptional voice.

My Captive Highlander

I had already read the book and loved it! Wow, what a cover! 😀 But listening to Dave Gillies use his enormous talent to bring all the characters to life was an amazing experience. This whole series is super fantastic and well worth your time and money to experience! I adore audio books because they help me form mental pictures of the characters in my head while freeing up my hands to multitask! This is a don't miss audio book as well as ebook!

short story

I loved the story but it should have been way longer. I feel a little cheated since this was 1 credit. It was good!!!

Too short! 3 hours!

Any additional comments?

This should be combined with another book or be called a novella. Three hours is only half a book and shouldn't be full price.
