Good Story - let down in editing!

While the story is a good "love out of time" tale that is historically well researched and well written, it is annoyingly interrupted by numerous clumsy breaks in and between words which i must assume are caused by careless editing! After the first several I began noting, with growing ire, these many many instances that break continuity.

Sweet story

I enjoyed this book more then I thought I would. I love the ending and thought this was a unique way to tell a time travel story. The characters are likable and the Kirsten Potter is one of my faves.

Adorable story made even better by the fantastic narration. I highly recommend this read to others.

I just loved this book! Great story love, great narration - the voices were just fantastic! This reminded me a lot of Mariana by Susanna Kearsley, which I love and recommend if you have not read it yet. The ending was so sweet and special, especially perfect for the roller coaster of emotions these two characters had to deal with. I think this is is my favorite book by Angeline Fortin. A time and place for every laird was really good,but I wasn't to thrilled with Taken, and almost didn't read this one I'm so glad that I did!

I normally don't write these but...

I normally don't write book reviews, but could not help myself in regards to this book. As other reviewers, I found the book to be painfully slow at first. I stuck with it after reading other reviews that promised the last quarter of the book was a fantastic journey....I was not disappointed. As slow going as the beginning was, it was vital to the emotional journey that unfolded toward the end. In college I wrote many pieces on the same past life concept but failed miserably when it came to weaving together a comprehensive journey such as the one in this book.

The narrator is tremendous. The inflection in her voice was always spot on, as was the building excitement she portrayed. I will listen to more books by this narrator.

Kirsten potter is one of the best narrators I have ever listened to. The books come alive with her dramatic readings. Great book, awesome love story!

Best of Fortin

At first, I thought what the heck did I borrow. As the story progressed and future melded with the past, I got caught up in the story... cried then sympathized. When MC and BFF were getting ready to leave my wow moment happened and my toes curled for remainder of the story.

Best book read since Outlander!

I love anything narrated by Kirsten Potter !!! The book had a great love story mixed with suspense.

Interesting story

Overall I did like the story. It was kind of slow going in some parts and was sort of confusing. In the middle I was kind of wondering where Mica went cause she wasn’t mentioned for awhile and it had just been mentioned that she was going to see if she could have control or do anything. From what I remember all she did was drop a fork....and maybe it was Hero really. Anyway I really did like the book and especially the ending!!
