Exceeded my expectations!

All around great book. Both the story & performance were awesome! In fact I've never listened to a book that fit with the narrator so well. This is a definite must read.

If I, Zombie Took Place in a Trailer Park...

Some books are like meals in how they appeal to you, provide some kind of nutrients, taste (metaphorically), etc. This story can best be described as shepherds pie, looks a little unappealing but is extremely surprising. If you like zombie novels, I highly encourage this one. A lot of it reminded me of the comic/TV show I, Zombie. Just replace the main character with a white trash version instead.

Great narration and very quick to go through.

Fun listen

Perfectly fun listen, I enjoyed every bit of it. Just right for a laid back day - a good laugh and OK story. I'm actually going to check out the next book in the series! Thank you!

Good book

Good book she was easy to listen to. Loved how she told the story. Awesome

New Zom spin

I liked it. Not the dystopian yarn that populates the genre, this is an alternate take on the zombie theme, Rowland writes about drug use in a very open manner that you don't usually see in lite fiction and at the $6.95 sale price it's a worthy listen.

Not Your Daddy's Angel!

This was my first tip-toe into trying out a zombie story, as a long time veteran of all things vamp and angel. I'm glad I did, this was a great book! Well-written, especially within the context of the characters and the type of story it is. Compelling characters, including a very likable main character who has more strength and depth than she has been given credit for and indeed, even realized herself. Just a heads up for those who may be more language-sensitive, the narrative does contain a lot of four-letter words (since) Angel does swear like a sailor. Good, exciting plot that is well-paced, keeping the reader interested and listening for what happens next. Allison McLemore nails the narration in her rendering of the story, IMO. I will definitely continue on the the second book...I highly recommend this fun listen!

This is the Sookie Stackhouse series with zombies

This was entertaining. And I loved the Sookie books. But, I don't think I loved them enough to appreciate another series that is so much like them. It's like the author replaced vampires with zombies and gave the condition a medical cause instead of bringing in a bunch of supernatural stuff. The mystery part is a little boring and the main character catches on to what's going on a little too slowly. It's your typical supernatural investigator mystery with a first person, female point of view, though the writing is nice and balanced for the most part. The narrator makes some characters sound like they have a serious learning disability too. All in all, if you really miss Sookie then you may want to give it a read. I'd recommend it for light reading but I don't think I'll be getting into the series.

Awesome zombie audio with some laughs

Within the first few minutes of listening to this audiobook I was cracking up. I love the narrator, I thought she did an awesome job! Angel Crawford is from Louisiana and the narrator had a great southern, country accent. This is also my first Diana Rowland book that I've read. I really did enjoy her writing style. My favorite is her one liners that just cracked me up.

I'm not a huge zombie book or movie fan, but I'm not opposed to them either. From what I know of zombies from other movies and books, Angel is not your typical zombie. She is almost normal. Well as normal as Angel can be, but with a different diet.

Throughout the book Angel is scrambling around trying to learn more about what's going on with her body and these cravings. Her "maker" is nowhere to be seen. But Angel has backbone. She knows who she is and who she's not. She's aware that she's a drug addicted high school drop out with a sh*tty boyfriend and an alcoholic father. That being said, she's learning that she deserves better and is definitely building herself esteem back.

I truly enjoyed this audio. So much that I'm already halfway through the next audiobook. The narrator literally has a country twangy accent that sounds perfect with Angel.
