Lincoln

This may be my toughest mission yet. None of my SEAL training or my time in the CIA has prepared me for this: a prickly, five-foot-nothing hellcat Jasmin Smith.

She was mine. She can fight it all she wanted, but in the end, I would have her every way a man can have his woman. She was a sassy little thing, making me work to bend her to my demands. But I will! I will bend her and tie her to me so tight she would never be able to get free.

Only problem is I had to break her first. I had secrets that she needed to know. I have fought to get back here...two years breathing in filth and scum. All for her - my warrior princess. Now, all I had to do is make her remember.

Jasmin

My entire life was a lie. Just when I thought I could take no more, I am faced with the most important mission of my life. If I fail, it might cost the one man I have ever loved his life: Lincoln Parker.

I was blissfully living my life as a tier one security contractor, shooting guns and killing bad guys. My life was perfect. Almost. I was missing something - a missing piece of time, to be exact. For the last two years, I have tried to remember the details of my capture and torture. Two years willing my brain to remember.

Then, he walked into my life. Actually, he pushed his way in. It was hard not to notice him - tall, bossy, and sexy as hell. He had no respect of personal space. He used every opportunity to get close and breathe me in. He demanded my attention, whispering the filthiest words in my ear. That was all it took to have me yielding to his every demand. One secret after another is revealed, lies are exposed, and the missing pieces of the puzzle are finally put together.

Nightstalker is a high-paced action adventure series. Featuring ex-military bad boys and possessive alpha males who use dirty language! Be advised.

Warning: Suitable for listeners 18 and above owing to explicit and graphic sexual content and language.

Great voices

This well written suspense held my attention and kept me on edge. I shed tears, and I smiled a lot while listening. The story has nice pacing, great action, and great storytelling. The voices are well done with great animation and separation of dialogue.

Excellent

Don't people read the warnings listed with books. When it says extreme sex and language you have to know the f bomb is going to be used literally. If you don't like the language go read Little House on the Prairie.
This audible has really good background on the characters and the situations in the story. I don't normally listen to military stories as they can get really involved, but I totally enjoyed this one. Jasmin is a take no crap from anyone heroine with a drool worthy husband who is very protective of his wife. Especially since he was away for 2 years, and the fact that she had no memory of him shows that patience is always a winner. Love the ending and can't wait to listen to the second book in the Red Team series. If you don't mind bad language and hot sex in, at times, unusual places this book is for you! EXCELLENT FIRST BOOK FOR THIS SERIES!

Both narrators are fantastic as they lead you through the lives of the characters and leave you sitting on the edge of your seat.

Is there anything better than a covert ops romantic suspense book? Heck Yeah, how about a covert ops romantic suspense with a bad @$$ female lead! I absolutely love romantic suspense books with alpha military, dark op teams, or even security firms but it is rare when the tough as nails op personnel is a woman… I think I have only read one other book when this was the case. Jasmin was an extremely hard core female who kicked butt and took names, I loved her strength and ability to be an equal in her team of fellow bad@$$es. She did have a habit of repeating “shit and damn,” and “the fuck you say” on such a regular basis that it through me off, it almost made her seem belligerent and whiney (it also could have just been the way the narrator would yell it) when the rest of what she said and acted portrayed the opposite. Lincoln was very mysterious, he joins Jasmin’s op team at the beginning of the story and it’s very obvious that he has a secret that a lot of the men are in on and it involves Jasmin. The secrets involving the team left me a little confused at first, kind of like Nightstalker started in the middle of the story. Luckily, as the story went on more about Jasmin’s past was revealed and I did not see all that coming… needless to say she had a lot of surprises one after another! I loved how everything was fully revealed and the ending was perfect for Jasmin and Linc, I am eager to see what happens next with Leo!

The narration of Nightstalker was great. Jason Clarke is always a favorite and he gave Linc such a commanding voice that suited his role very well… let’s just say he narrated the steamy scenes wonderfully! I really enjoyed Carly Robins voice for Jasmin, but there were moments where it almost seemed like she was constantly shouting to portray Jasmin’s toughness. Once I turned the volume down on the parts Carly narrated it came out much better, so it may just be a case of bad speakers… needless of volume she definitely gave Jasmin the strength her character deserved!

Good Story

The storyline was great. Riley Edwards did not disappoint. Loved the narration of Jason Clarke. Female narrator voice was sometimes shrilly and her male voice was not that great.

Warrior and her Savior

This book has been on my book queue for a while to listen to and I have been holding off. But I am stubborn and wanted to clear my list out. My first thought when I heard the male narrator was, “I know that voice!” I got really excited and started to explain my excitement to my husband. He just looked at me, blinked, smirked then shook his head and went back to watching anime. I on the other hand continues to listen and have loved Jasmine right away. I am a sucker for a strong female lead who is a bad-ass. I get tired of all the damsels in distress. Jasmine has a past? It doesn’t feel like the right word. Baggage…she is a bad-ass trained warrior but also needs to be loved…love by her true love, Lincoln, who do everything in his power to protect her… the love of his life. It was a wonderful story and I love listening to Jason Clark! Made this story right. Both narrators did beautifully!

I needed this story. Thank you!

Good and gets better as you continue

When first starting the book I found Jasmin pretty unlikeable. I was genuinely concerned that I wasn’t gonna be able to make it through the story because of her personality. She has one of those “I don’t have girl friends because they’re just too much drama” / “all of my friends are guys, cause I’m one of the boys” type of personality. And I absolutely hate that. If a female character does not have other female friends, to me that’s an under developed character. And why is Jasmin the only female on this team? I feel like that perpetrated the “I don’t get along with girls” demeanor, which was completely unnecessary considering there were no other real female characters. There’s obviously females in the military so their presence lacking makes no sense. That made Jasmin really unlikable as a standalone character. That being said, Lincoln and Jasmin as a couple worked really well together. And I really enjoyed the plot line and the progression of the story, I was able to effectively ignore Jasmin’s standoff personality that was present during the beginning of the story. The story had enough plot to be able to focus in other aspects. Overall I recommend the book, just before warned about Jasmin’s petty behavior in the first several chapters.
