Publisher's summary

Fresh out of college and taking a dare, Sydney R. Montague ended up with far more adventure than he bargained for.

He was to join the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. So after enduring the hardships of training and regiment, he was again victim to mischief. As a practical joke he was stationed up in the arctic circle at the northernmost air base at Ungava bay in Quebec. A remote unexplored section of the north populated only by Eskimo, Polar bear, seal, and the occasional herd of caribou.

Their “airbase” was packed in the crates on the S.S. Bay Rupert, which they had to set up themselves. After a few short weeks of getting settled Sydney planned a hunting trip with several of the Inuit and ended up shipwrecked off of Baffin Island. After a horrific survival ordeal on the Ice Floes and Savage Island they survived only by the miraculous killing of a Polar bear by hand.

North to Adventure, Is the tale of Sydney Montague’s two-year station in the far north among the Inuit. It is a tale of exploration, friendship, survival, primitive cultures, and family.
