Scary!

If you could sum up Number Seventy-Five in three words, what would they be?

Thriller, horrifying, thought-provoking

What was one of the most memorable moments of Number Seventy-Five?

When she first wakes up in the cave and hears the killer digging her grave.

What does Sabrina Stewart bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She has a versatile voice, and is very expressive. Her narration breathes life into these characters.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

This entire story was terrifying from beginning to end. I guess the part where she discovered her best friend was behind it all was a particularly devastating plot twist.

Any additional comments?

Ashley Fontaine is a master story teller with a very dark imagination. I would not want to cross her...ever.

Scary to say the least

I received this audio book in exchange for honest review

This is really a nightmare come true but, what a great story. It was suspenseful and exiting and I couldn't stop listening. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves a good revenge story. The narrator was excellent and did a great job submerging you into the story.

Very suspenseful story being made into a movie.

Any additional comments?

Number Seventy-Five written by Ashley Fontainne is a wonderful short story that I was immediately drawn into. We all have friends and relatives who have gone threw a divorce after a long marriage and are hesitant to get back into the dating pool. We also know those who have experimented with online dating with varing results.

Number Seventy-Five centers around Mandy Russell a few years after she divorced her high school sweetheart after 17-year marriage. Mandy lets her best friend, Shawna, persuade her into joining an online dating site. After a few months of chatting online, Mandy meets her new potential beau face-to-face for dinner where sparks are few and there is no love connection. The rest of the story is the fall out that occurs by Mandy's rejection of her would-be suitor -- think of the worst thing that can happen on a blind date, and it happens to Mandy. There were more twists and turns in this short-story than a full length novel!

Sabrina Stewart did an excellent job narrating. She had great intonation and pace, keeping the story suspenseful throughout. Sabrina's rendition of Number Seventy-Five easily kept me engaged from beginning to end.

In short, I can see why this story is being made into a movie, and I can't wait to listen to or read another one of Ashley Fontainne's books!

If you like revenge, serial killers, and physiolog

Before listening to Number Seventy-Five, I made sure to only look at the genre and not the summaries or reviews. I like to do this with the shorter stories as I am often surprised more. At first I thought that a majority of the story was going to be about the trial and tribulations of internet dating in your forties. But it was much more than that. This is a story about revenge and how the protagonist becomes number seventy-five. She soon finds herself captive, in a cave, but not alone. Full of minor twists and turns, I was engaged through the entire story. Even though I couldn't connect to any of the characters I enjoyed the time I spent listening. I cannot say more without giving everything away. If you like revenge, serial killers, and physiological thrillers, please do yourself a favor and listen to this interesting tale.

Powerhouse

What made the experience of listening to Number Seventy-Five the most enjoyable?

Wow! My entire experience of listening to this book was lingering for the next turn. I was completely enthralled throughout the entire listen. Guiltless revenge. Going through the process of Mandy's thoughts and feelings were intense as to how she showed her conscious side yet subtly and powerfully recalled the reasons she was brought to no other conclusion. It was beautifully written and well thought out and executed perfectly by the narrator. And I received the audiobook free of charge in exchange for an unbiased review.

What other book might you compare Number Seventy-Five to and why?

This book stands on its own merit. I don't know of any other book I would compare it to. Its's its own entity.

What about Sabrina Stewart’s performance did you like?

Sabrina Stewart owned this. She executed Mandy so perfectly. I could say it was her lilting southern accent or her clean breathy pauses or her occasional giggle with perfect timing. It was all of these things put together for a great performance.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes but I don't want to be a spoiler. I'll just say guiltless revenge.

Any additional comments?

I hope this continues with the pairing of Ashley's writing and Sabrina's narration. I think it was flawless.

Tasty Tidbit

I can't say I was surprised by any of the twisty turns this story took, but it was well put together and well read, making it an enjoyable short listen to while away a couple of hours. I liked the feisty heroine with her never-say-die (literally) attitude.

An errie twist of fate!

Would you listen to Number Seventy-Five again? Why?

Yes, as with almost every book, we tend to not absorb every bit the books have to offer. This book is exciting enough to listen to again for sure.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

I was kept on the edge of my seat. With new twists to the plot over & over again. It was very exciting, yet scary at the same time.

What does Sabrina Stewart bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The accent for one. That southern accent only added to the storyline. The amount of fear too as every time it stated to get exciting, the narrator got louder aiding to that excitement! Also, with audiobooks, we can sit back & relax to absorb all we can. We don't have to stumble over how to pronounce a word or its meaning! I always get more from audiobooks.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I did listen to this in 1 setting. I was afraid if I turned it off, I would miss something important or forget some details.

Any additional comments?

This is a fabulous story that really made me think about how much of our lives we share thinking it is harmless. Betrayal by a best friend is something many of us have had to deal with in our lives, though most of us not to this extent. All the twists & turns in this story really had me fearful for Mandy. The author did an awesome job writing this story & it is very believable, almost like it is a true story! I absolutely loved this story & revenge is always sweet (especially in books)!!!

SWEET REVENGE

Such a unique story of love online. Was absolutely captivated by Mandy's story~told mainly through her thoughts and feelings. Started listening and could not stop until the end, loving the surprising twists. Sabrina Stewart absolutely nailed the narration with her southern drawl (which I really enjoyed, as I went to school in Kentucky). "Momma didn't raise no fool" is so true of Mandy. Highly recommended...
