About this listen

What happens when a one-night stand turns into a long-distance friendship, and yet both yearn for more?

Cady Dunne decided to roll the dice when she jumped into bed with sexy, professional hockey player Zane Kavanaugh. It was supposed to be a one-night stand and then it was supposed to be over.

After returning home to Dublin, Cady in a million years never imagined Zane would reach out to her. It was beyond comprehension to Zane that he would actually develop a close relationship with the Irish beauty forged over countless emails, texts, and phone calls.

But when feelings get deeper and they are both ready to take the next step, how do they get past the fact that there is an ocean separating their lives? Maybe all they really need is a Christmas miracle.

This book can be listened to as a standalone.

Short, Sweet and Steamy

This was a just a sweet little nugget in the Off series to let you know what happened to some of our favorite characters from other books in the series. This book was just long enough to explore the quick romance between Cady and Zane and get us caught up on the lives of the past romances in the series. Sawyer Bennett definitely knows how to keep me interested.

As usual Charlotte North and Matthew Holland did a good job with the narration. I love that they can do so many accents. Keep narrating and I will keep listening.

Since this is a novella, I would recommend paying the reduced price and not use a credit. But I would say it was worth the price I paid. I'm loving this series.

A fun contemporary novella.

I thoroughly enjoyed this stand-alone novella. It’s funny, sweet and romantic.

Zane is a professional hockey player and Cady is an Irish woman visiting family in the U.S. On her last night before she flies back to Ireland, she and Zane engage in a one-night stand. When she leaves the U.S., Zane can’t stop thinking of her and they become pen-pals of sorts, and their friendship blooms.

I smiled the whole time I listened, and really enjoyed the flashbacks, sexy-times, correspondence, tensions of the heart, and the developing romance. Having met people whose long-lasting love-story started through correspondence, I know this type of love can work. And I know it involves patience, sacrifice and commitment. I think Sawyer Bennett nailed long-distance romance, (as well as humour and sexy times)!

Sawyer Bennett’s writing in this OFF Series really appeals to me because I feel there is a good balance between romantic build-up and sex, rather than being sex-heavy.

Narrators Charlotte North and Matthew Holland narrate the whole OFF Series. I feel they have been perfectly cast. I believe the narrators are American and “put on” an Irish accent for OFF SEASON and book 4, OFF COURSE. I enjoyed their Irish accent and felt it was well done.

OMG

You have got to be kidding me? This was a two hour book and the last thing I thought was I would love it because I really didn’t know anything about Zane but as it goes in in typical Sawyer Bennett fashion, I love this one as much as I love the others, this might be in contention for number one. I still love every single one of these books. I’ve never thought that I would ever love a short book, but this was amazing and I got to be honest, the short part of it didn’t bother me at all because I felt the story was complete. I’m so sad only one more to go.

short and sweet

I really liked this story. It reminded me of how my husband and I started out. Love finds a way. Very sweet story and the narration was on point. Good accents by both of you

Cheers,Yours, Love

Who says long distance can’t work. I think I actually loved this novella more that full length book, all the witty, quirky fun without all the pesky buts

Off Season

Cady!! I loved her in the other books, she is the cousin from Ireland.
Visiting the USA on her last night she hooks up with Zane.

Their connection is fire no joke its a flame and even distance can't simmer it down. They choose to stay in communication via email and then text and its plain to see they are right for each other.

The only real issue is distance, its a great story and I loved it.
Great narration again I swear each time I have to check that its the same narrators from all the other books!

Sweet and steamy

Both the male and female narrators did a good job. Liked her Irish lilt! This is about Cady and hockey player, Zane, who have a sizzling one night stand. There’s a major connection there, but both agree more isn’t possible with Cady living in Ireland and Zane’s responsibilities to his hockey team. These two can’t deny the chemistry between them though, so they send emails, text, and talk on the phone pretty much daily, but just as friends. There’s just a small problem, being friends with someone you’ve slept with and want to sleep with again isn’t exactly an easy task; especially if one of those people continues to date. I hated that part, but it’s not too involved. Loved the passion between these two! The communication between them is cute. Didn’t like how much Cady pushed away from Zane, but I liked her okay. Zane is mostly a sweetheart; his thinking is a bit too sleazy sounding at times; less about his manwhore ways would’ve been nice, and I didn’t like his friend and fellow hockey player, Nico, but his feelings for Cady did come through well. He’s fully on board! Overall, the story is a nice, sweet, steamy read.
