About this listen

It's been three years since police Detective Darby Shaw found out she's a superhuman who can revive the murdered. In that time, she and the Department of SuperHuman Affairs have had a tumultuous relationship. But when one of their agents ends up dead in her jurisdiction, Darby must set aside her hate in order to pursue justice, especially with the Department hostile to her and Mark. Mark Herman, her partner, is still reeling from the revelation Darby kept secret for two years: he's not normal, but neither is he a superhuman. Angry, hurt, and confused, he wars with himself -- is she worth the trouble? When new department psychologist and empathic super William Young makes moves on Darby, Mark must face his own jealousy -- and try not to piss off Darby in the process.

Perfect Voice for Darby

I already read Omission, and Sarah Rogers is the perfect voice for Darby.
The Darby Shaw Chronicles is one of my favorite detective series. If you're a fan of Jim Butcher's Harry Dresden series, you'll love Darby Shaw. She's a superhero detective who can revive murder victims when she touches the murderer and their victim.

Sarah provides the perfect voice for Darby as well as voicing her partner, Mark in a natural way. She does a fantastic job of providing distinct voices for each character including Southern, British, etc. accents for minor characters.

This series just keeps getting better!

I couldn't wait to get a hold of Omission, and it didn't disappoint! I love how Darby's power and her relationship with Mark get more complex in every book. The mystery of the bizarre murder case and the strange pull of the new man in Darby's life kept me on the edge of my seat, and of course most of all I couldn't wait to see what would happen with Darby and Mark :) The narration was really well done, and I was seriously so drawn in that it became problematic because I had trouble taking out my headphones and returning to real life. While the ending of this book was very satisfying, I already can't wait for the next one!
