Action packed!

Action packed adventure! This dark PNR has you follow Onyx, an original character with some serious sexyness! Exciting storyline with lots of leads for additional character growth. Looking forward to the rest of this series.
On a performance note, our narrator has a great voice for this character 👍

great first in series

This is a good tale of super humans who've been created by an evil scientist for his own ends. It seems to follow to some degree the characters of the Batman series so if you have never come across those you may feel lost. However, it is still a good tale with characters who are more flawed than perfect which makes them believable.
All in all a good tale and worth getting

Wonderful book!!!!

Onyx by Nikki Landis is a wonderful, wonderful story….but, I’m not sure I cared for the Audiobook. The narrator was somewhat dry in his delivery. It was difficult to get interested in the story because he was a little monotone. But, the story itself was MAGNIFICENT!!!!!!

Too Dark for Me

Narrator Rodney Falcon did a great job of reading this story. If it hadn't been for his strong grasp of the characters, I most likely wouldn't have finished the book.

Please understand that this review comes from someone who has found that dark fantasy is probably not the best genre for me.

The story seemed like a cross between the X-men, and the Avengers, something I would normally enjoy.

The main character, Onyx ( cool name, by the way) is a 25 year old adult. However, his reactions to events are more what I would expect of a teenaged boy. Most teens by their very nature are pretty self-absorbed. Onyx' interactions border on the Oh-why-did-you-get-hurt? This-is-an- inconvenience-to-me! type of behavior.

Spoiler: Onyx' girlfriend is missing for 3 days. When she is found, she is covered in blood and bruises, and has obviously been beaten. Instead of getting her medical care, Onyx gives her a sponge bath to remove the blood. When she wakes, she still isn't given proper medical attention. Onyx demands if she had had sex with her attacker.

That was it for me. I expect more from our main characters, and Onyx failed to deliver. I did complete the audio book, and decided that this series is not for me.

Will he keep her safe from the Collective?

This story had me completely hooked from the beginning. Onyx is fast paced and entertaining and the characters are dynamic and engaging. A tormented childhood, a thirst for revenge, and the safety of his true love, will keep you guessing how this story will come to an end.

A successful collaboration between Nikki Landis and Rodney Falcon. Rodney gives each one of Nikki's wonderful characters their own voice which brings the story to whole other level.

Loved the characters and the story as well as the narrator. Looking forward to more of their stories!

Omg Yes

OMG this story is soooooo good. But with Rodney Falcon's voice its OMG good. you will not get bored listening to his Adonis like voice.

Hot Action

Great start and interesting take on superhuman altered abilities. Onyx’s story was full of action, love and suspense. Looking forward to reading more from Landis. Falcon’s Narration was excellent.
