Dubbed the "Hippie Mafia", the Brotherhood began in the mid-1960s as a small band of peace-loving, adventure-seeking surfers in Southern California. After discovering LSD, they took to Timothy Leary's mantra of "Turn on, tune in, and drop out" and resolved to make that vision a reality by becoming the biggest group of acid dealers and hashish smugglers in the nation, and literally providing the fuel for the psychedelic revolution in the process.

The first 5 minutes.
I love the story. I was excited to fill in this portion of my 60’s historical knowledge. A crazy telling about the goings ons affiliated with the surf community of Laguna Beach during the mid late 60’s… I was hooked. But the entirety of it was disappointing in its delivery. It had some exciting story telling of the drug runs through Europe, to Afghanistan and back to the US. The narrator was hard for me to listen to and often put me to sleep.
