So much better than the tv series
While it’s nice to have the visual of Jamie Fraser from the tv series, some of the landmarks and characters, etc, the book is, as they usually are, soooo much better!
Although the narrator did a fabulous job, I thought her voice sounded too old to be that of Claire, but that just my opinion and I didn’t enjoy the story less because of it.
Can’t wait to start the next one

Outlander!
I am in love with this book, however I can hear voices in the background. At first I thought I am hearing things yet my son can hear it as well. Almost as though the TV was on in the background as this was recorded. Besides that, I love Davina's performance. Perfect choice to read this amazing book. Passion, love, loyalty, time travel, herbalism...politics. It covers it all. Clair is awesome!

Amazing
This was wonderfully performed, I loved every minute of it!
Outlander was an emotional roller coaster from the very first page! I laughed, cried, gasped, blushed, I got angry, I felt relief. Diana Gabaldon is a bard of highest degree!!

All I have to say really is this is a beautiful story. I have watched the TV show first so while listening to the book I have their images in my head and that just makes it even better. I also think the narrator did an amazing job.

Book is fantastic, of course. But narrator doesn't know how to pronounce words
Very very odd hearing various words pronounced so strangely. Plaid is NOT "played"!!!!!! This is only one example!!!
Story is great, read it myself and watched the tv program...but I'm sorry to have wasted my credit on such a narrator...

All time favorite still
Decided to listen to this series for third time (I’ve read them twice) and it’s still my favorite. I’ve gotten away from romances in the past decade but this one still speaks to me. Ms. Porter was the perfect voice for this story and does an amazing job with the characters. As this was one of my first audiobooks she may have ruined me for the rest :) Ms Gabaldon descriptions take you right into the moment without droning on or being too syrupy. I wish I could do this series more justice but that’s why I read them, not write them. Do not hesitate to listen to this one! You will not be disappointed!
