I have read the books and also listened to the audio books.
I’m not a romance, fantasy, super realism or current science fiction fan. History, biography, non fiction-political events national and international events. Books on scientific discoveries throughout recorded history up to the present time are my subjects of interest. So the Outlander books were unknown to me and I had never watched Outlander on TV.
A friend suggested in passing that I might enjoy Outlander for the attention to detail visually and accuracy of historical events.
I haven’t been disappointed!

Surprised
A friend was raving about the television series and I thought “I should read that again.” I downloaded it only to discover that I had not, in fact, read this book previously. I suppose I had confused it with another. I am so happy that I didn’t miss out. I thoroughly enjoyed the story - the history, the time travel, and even the romance, which is not my usual fare. This is a wonderful story.

Fills in the blanks left by the tv series
I am enjoying this book, the narrator is doing a fine job. I have watched most of the series episodes streaming, and I like that it’s filling in the thoughts and feelings from the characters. It’s really well written too.
My biggest complaint is of a technical nature. The recording was not done in a sound proof studio, there’s talking, coughs and other random noises in the background. It’s VERY distracting.
