This book had me crying, laughing, smiling, and left me feeling proud of someone I don’t even know! Jojo, is and always will be my childhood, but in this book, she is and forever will be Joanna. The real stories hit hard and I admire Joanna’s ability to own up to her upbringing and even down to her mistakes! We are all human and I wish you all the best in your new adventures, as Joanna 🫶🏼

An honest journey through life

It’s not often that we get these full glimpses into our childhood idols and favorite artists lives but when they happen I hope it’s as open as Joanna has written about her life. Listening to this audiobook was as if you filled in the gaps of the journey you as her fan took with her. It is an amazing depiction of healing and perseverance and dedication to herself and her craft. Bravo!

I am not alone

I’ve been a fan of ‘JoJo’ since 2004 and now after reading this book, I am a bigger fan of Joanna Levesque. I always knew there was something about her that I felt connected to, but I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. While a lot of her experiences have been different than my own, there are quite a few stories of her truths I relate to deeply. The battle that I’ve had with karma after betraying someone I loved long ago followed me like a lost dog and I always wondered if I was the only one who struggled with carrying around so much guilt and shame. I too had a up and down relationship with my mother and grew angry with her for not protecting me or teaching me things even though I still loved her deeply. This book is for anyone who once couldn’t find a light at the end of the tunnel or felt numb for such a long time. Over the Influence is about resilience, accountability, forgiveness, and gratitude and it’s a book I’ll read over and over over. Joanna, if you ever see this, thank you for your strength and vulnerability to share this with us. Thank you for never giving up because we love having you in the world. Most importantly, be proud of yourself. This is YOUR moment, YOUR story, YOUR truth. No one is just like you and that’s the whole point Jo! Your dad is beaming from the best seat in the house. You are one of a kind. I hope this makes you smile :)

Wow! Hello Joanna!

You may think you know her story, but you have no idea! This memoir is phenomenal!

It's a story of struggle, determination, perseverance, and complete empowerment! I laughed and I cried, oh boy did I cry. Joanna's writing flows with ease. The fact that this is her first book is completely mind-blowing! I couldn't get enough of it! I didn't want it to end!

A true story of what doesn't kill us makes us stronger! Joanna is wise beyond her years... I am so grateful that she took the risk and wrote this memoir for the world to read! I highly recommend this spectacular book!

Well written, deep and beautiful
